Main Scripture: Ezk.34:14-16
More Scriptures: Ps.23:1, 1Tim.5:8, Gal.4:19
I will feed them in a good pasture and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be, there shall they lie in good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel. I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord. I will seek that which was lost and bring again that which was lost and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken and will strengthen that which was sick, but I will destroy the fat and the strong. I will feed them with judgment. Ezk.34:14-16. Yesterday, the word of God exposed to us some of the covenant demands that we owe our sheep as men, husbands and fathers. And I pray that you and I are challenged to be the best of God to our sheep. Today let is consider the second demand. It says, MAKE THEM TO LIE DOWN.
So, what does it mean for you to make your sheep to lie down? It means to make your wife and children comfortable. And this will require so much sacrifice from you-giving so much for the sakes of your flock. In Ps.23, the Scripture says, he makes me to lie down in green pastures (Ps.23:2). Your flock should and must not lack anything good. They should and must find comfort in you and with you. You should be their first refuge whenever they are in trouble. But for you to be able to make them lie down in fat pasture, you must win their confidence. And you achieve this by serving them. Jesus served His sheep/disciples- and by it won their confidence especially stubborn Peter (Jn.13:4-9). You cannot continue to mistreat your wife and children and expect them to follow you to the pastures. You cannot continue to treat your sheep as slaves and think they will not rebel against you. You must honour your wife and children and treat them as God would. Secondly, you engage the prayer altar to bring them to lie down in fat pastures. The Scripture says, a great and effectual door has been opened but there are many adversaries. The world, sin and satan will fight to see that your wife and children do not see the fat pastures you have prepared for them. The enemy uses deception and lies to confuse them, so that they don’t see anything good about coming to take comfort in the green pasture. So, the only weapon you need to dislodge the enemy is effectual fervent prayers. In Micah 6:1, the word of God says, hear ye now what the Lord saith, arise, contend thou before the mountains and let the hills hear thy voice. You must let every opposition hear your voice. Thirdly, you must keep nurturing your pasture so that it becomes comfortable for your sheep and you achieve this by working to be the best and living out the very life of Christ for them to see. You must continue to work to remove every form of weed and defilement around your life and family-fold.

FAITH CONFESSION
I have decided to make my pasture fat and bring my wife and children into it to lie down because that is what gives value to my headship as a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
