ARE YOU AS GOOD AS JESUS CHRIST? (1)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: John 2:13-22

More Scriptures: 2Cor.3:8, Rom.1:17, Gal.3:5

You may have heard of this saying “as gentle as a dove”. This talks about the action of one that reflects the true character of another. So today, by the help of the Holy Spirit, I want to share with you that aspect of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman that you must emulate. Everything that Jesus did and is still doing as the Husband and Head of the Church is what He has enabled you to do for your flock-wife and children-through the help of the Holy Spirit. And if you can see who He is and commit to doing to your sheep what He did to His disciples, your wife and children and the world would describe you in this fashion, “as good and Christ”

Now, let us consider some of the pictures of Jesus as the good shepherd and husband. Jesus Christ is warm and accessible. He guides and protects His sheep. In Jn.10:11, the Scripture says, I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep…………. . As the head of your family, God has given you the grace to be like Jesus. So, whatever makes Jesus good to His disciples and the world at large is available to you. It is your heritage to be the good and godly husbandman. It gives Him joy when He sees you act like He would in the way you relate with your wife and children. Jesus Christ is the perfect example of how husbands are expected to conduct the affairs of their family kingdom. He left behind examples for you to follow. Therefore, whatever makes you not as good as Jesus Christ is of the devil and must be resisted. But for you to be as good as Jesus, you must have a personal relationship with Him. In Jn.3:3, Jesus said, “verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. What does it mean to be born again? It means surrendering your life to Jesus and making Him your Lord and Saviour, where He takes absolute control of your life and decisions. So, I encourage you to please see the back cover page of this devotional and pray the prayer of salvation. Thereafter, I encourage you to join a Bible believing church where you will be taught the complete truth of God’s word. Secondly, you must give yourself to the study of word of God because it is your source from where you draw wisdom, strength and ability to be like Him to your wife and children. The word of God is like a glass. As you look at it daily and meditate on the truth continually, you are changed from an ordinary husband to real husband-good and godly (2Cor.3:8). Stay focused!

FAITH CONFESSION

I am committed to give myself to the demands of being like Jesus Christ in words and in my action because that is what makes me the good and godly husband to my wife and children in Jesus name. Amen.
