RESOURCES WITHOUT REASONING (1)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gen.12:1-4

More Scriptures: Job 31:13, 1Jn.3:8, Eph.6:22

Today’s teaching was inspired in my heart by the Person of the Holy Spirit on Saturday 8th April, 2016 at 6.08 a.m. I was in deep thought in the early hours before the day breaks. The Holy Spirit said these words to me, “resources without a reason will lead to regrets”. Now, what this implies is that whatever resources you have, especially money, belongs to God. And if you want to enjoy the blessings, you must ask the Holy Ghost to guide you so that you could do His will.  As the head of the family, it is not enough for you to have money. Infact, it is not enough to have fat bank accounts. What is much more important is to know exactly what to do with the money so that it will yield greater returns. But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God, for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers as it is this day. (Deut.8:22). So, you must understand why God has blessed you with financial resource. Even Jesus Christ, your perfect example of the good and godly husband, knew His purpose on earth. The Bible says of Him,“for this purpose was the Son of man was made manifest”. Jesus understood His purpose on the earth. He knew why He came and appreciated the place of appropriate application of His resources. Any wonder He made the most of life.

As the head of the family and the spiritual mentor of your wife and children, it is very important for you to understand that money or any other resources that God has given to you are SEEDS. And they will remain in that state unless they are planted wisely. It is when you plant your resources in fertile grounds that you reap bountiful harvest. So, the reason God has blessed you with financial blessings is not for you to acquire new women or concubines. Your new status is not for you to establish new sex partners. Just like one great man said,” when purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable”. God has made you both a priest and a pastor. And because He doesn’t want you to fail, He made provisions, both materially and financially, for you to function maximally. In Gen. 12:1-3, the Scripture says, I will make you a great nation, I will bless you. and I will make your name great, and you shall be a blessing. AND IN YOU SHALL ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH BE BLESSED.  Note the phrase IN YOU. This means that inside of you, lies the blessedness of nations. Therefore, all that God has done for you, and will do for you is to bless the families of the earth.  But for you to maximize God’s resources wisely, you need the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit. He is the all-knowing and the greatest teacher (Jn.14:26). He is your best Partner who can help you use your resources for the good of your wife and children.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to use Your resources at my disposal wisely.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, save me from ungodly appetite that will waste the resources You have blessed me with.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver from every spirit of waste.

FAITH CONFESSION

I have purposed in my heart to do the will of God in my finances even as I continue to depend on the Person of the Holy Spirit to make wise decisions concerning His resources with me because I want to make the most of my position as the good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
