UNDERSTANDING YOUR POSITION -THE PROPHET AND HIS PEOPLE (6)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gen.20:6-7

More Scriptures: Pro.4:23, Lk.1:8, Acts 10:3

There have been so many teachings about the subject of prophet. Many people believe that only those who have gone to a prophetic school or have some unction can function as a prophet. But by the revelation of the Holy Ghost, I found out from the Word of God that the shepherd has the prophetic grace because of the position he occupies as the husbandman. And that is what I want to share with you. I pray that your eyes of understanding will be enlightened to behold the truth from Scriptures for the profiting of your wife and children.

And God said to him in a dream, yes, I know that you did this in the integrity of your heart. For I also withheld you from sinning against Me, therefore I did not let you touch her. Now therefore, restore the man’s wife for HE IS A PROPHET …….. Gen.20:6-7. The Scripture in Gen.20:6-7 attests to this truth that as the godly husband, you are a prophet. It has no regard for colour, age, tribe or language. As long as you are a husband, you are a prophet. We were never told that Sarah’s husband, Abraham went to the school of the prophets. But when God needed to describe some of the graces that Abraham carried when his wife was abducted by Abimelech, He said to the king, “now therefore, restore the man’s wife for HE IS A PROPHET. As the head of the family, you are a prophet over the lives of your wife and children.

So, who is a prophet and what does he do? A prophet tells the people the mind of God on certain matters. That is, he unveils the plans and purpose of God to His people. Secondly, a prophet gives direction to the people, interpreting the times and seasons. Thirdly, a prophet reveals the plans of God for His people. That is who YOU ARE. As a prophet, you know the mind of God concerning your wife and children from the Scriptures. You can interpret the Scriptures to your sheep, helping them to understand the times and seasons. You can enforce the will of God concerning their health, mental, spiritual, financial and physical destinies. However, you have the responsibility to search the Word of God for yourself and depend on the Person of the Holy Spirit to help you understand the Scriptures.  As a prophet, you must be able to see ahead and provide direction for your wife and children. So, you do not need another prophet to tell you about the present or future of your wife and children. God has empowered you to act in that office and He will always honour your prophetic declaration over your sheep even as you abide in Him and He also abides in you (Jn.15:5). And as you discharge your prophetic duties over your sheep, you will receive honour and respect from your wife and children. Also, you will enjoy the presence of God just like Sarah’s husband did.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to function as a prophet in the lives of my wife and children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, break every root of intimidation and fear working against my prophetic office.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to be conscious of Your prophetic grace upon my life.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am a prophet by reason of my position as the head of my family and I exercise the anointing on my life as a prophet for the good of my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
