LED BY THE SPIRIT (1)

Being led by the Spirit of God is the husbandman’s greatest heritage and need. It is the answer to spiritual dryness, emotional and mental frustration. The greatest mistake any husband, who is the spiritual head and authority over his wife and children, would make is when he refuses to be led by the Spirit of God but chooses to be led by the systems and traditions of the world. The refusal of husbands to submit to the leadership of the Person of the Holy Spirit has been responsible for the resistance and revolt they are having from their sheep. As the head of your family, the temptation to want to think that you know it all is always inviting. It is the natural tendency of every husbandman. So, most times, you take decision without the involvement of a Higher Authority- the Person of the Holy Spirit-who is the custodian of divine wisdom and influence (Jn.14:26). It is important for you to know that although you are the head of your wife and children, you do not know everything. According to 1Cor.13:9, the Scripture says, you know in parts. You are limited. And it is this limitation that satan wants to take advantage of to make you fail as the godly man, husband and father and, hence he doesn’t want you to consult the Person of the Holy Spirit. In John 14:26, the Scripture says of the Holy Spirit, I will send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things.

There is what to do and say, and there is when and how to respond to issues that arise in your family kingdom. You need the help of the Holy Spirit to do what is right all the time. You must understand that you know in parts. If Jesus Christ, the Bridegroom of the Church, was led by the Spirit of God, then you have a greater need of the Ministry of the Holy Spirit. The world lies in wickedness and deception. Truth is scarce and trust is few. It is dangerous to lead your wife and children by guess work. It is very important for you to note that as the head of your family, being led by God is a major factor to your successful reign as the godly leader. If you’re not led by the Spirit of God, you will suffer losses, become frustrated, agitated and make very careless mistakes, the same way I lost my first child, after waiting for a child for a while. SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus and by Your Spirit, lead me in the way that I should go and make my ways prosperous.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus and by Your Spirit, order my steps only to the places You have ordained for me
• Father, in the Name of Jesus and by Your Spirit, deliver me from wrong direction, decisions and influences and relationships.

FAITH CONFESSION

Father, I surrender my life wholly to the Person of the Holy Spirit, so that I can live a peaceable and profitable life towards my wife and children as the good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen
