THE POINT MAN (3)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gen.12:1-2

More Scriptures: Gal.3:29, Acts 3:4, Act 2:4

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee. And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing. (Gen.12:1-2). As a point man, you are an agent of influence, making everlasting impact in several generations. Now, beyond being a blessing to your flock, you are ordained to be a blessing to generations. Other families and heads of families should look up to you for direction and guidance. Just as you will observe amongst spectators in any game, their hopes are hinged on the point man in the field. They are confident that victory is guaranteed because their point man is in the field of play. Lot and the families around the family of Abraham looked up to Abraham’s family as their compass. Even today, we are called seeds of Abraham, the husband of Sarah. In Gal.3:29, the Scripture says, and if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. All these happened as a result of a husband willing to follow God through and through.

Therefore, for you to become a point man of influence, you have to be redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. This means that you have to be born again. A relationship with Jesus is what makes you a valuable asset in your family kingdom. And that is your key to influencing your wife and children for God and humanity. For except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (Jn.3:3). You will also have to make yourself available for God to influence. This is so very important for you as the head of your family. As the spiritual leader in your family kingdom, it is the quality of influence you have allowed God to have in your life that will be transferred to your flock. In Acts 3:4, the Scripture says, and Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. The result of this was that the sight of the blind man was restored. Peter allowed himself to be greatly influenced by God through the Holy Spirit in Acts 2. You must walk with the consciousness that you are a point man in your family fold; hence you must make it count in the lives of your wife, children and the society at large.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, by Your Spirit, make me an example to my flock and the world.
  • Father, deliver me from every root of deceit and falsehood.
  • Father, by the blood of Jesus Christ, pour upon my life Your grace and make a worthy vessel.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am an example and not an exception to my wife and children because I have the life of Christ in me as a good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
