BE FULLY CONVINCED

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Rom.4:20-21

More Scriptures: Rom.8:38-39, Ps.62:8, Matt.6:22

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief but was strong in faith, he was also able to perform. And being fully persuaded that what he had promised he was able also to perform (Rom.4:20-21). Every time I read this Scripture, it gives me hope and assures me that there is no hopeless case with God. Faith in God can change any irresponsible wife or child, no matter how bad the case may be. But it would take a fully persuaded shepherd to get God to do a good and quick work in the lives of his irresponsible sheep. Your faith in God can change your wife from a stubborn, disobedient woman to a submissive and obedient woman. Your faith in God can equally transform your rebellious child or children to humble and faithful seeds. The power to make the positive changes to happen in the lives of your sheep is in your hands.

The husband of Sarah was fully persuaded that what God promised- that is, giving them the promised child against all known medical and common-sense verdict-will come to pass. He did not stagger at what God had promised. He held on, even when it did not make sense. That is what God wants you to do-to hold onto His promises concerning your wife and children, even when there seems to be no sign of a positive change.

Now what does it mean to be fully persuaded? It means to be convinced beyond any doubt on the basis of the truth. So, as the husband and leader of your family, you can be convinced for a positive change to happen to your wife and children on the basis of God’s word beyond the negatives you see or hear or think in and around them. Sometimes, you may have prayed and fasted and even sown seed in order for your flock to be transformed from bad to good, yet it appears you are not getting the results that you desire. I encourage you not to give up on them. Do not bow down your head in defeat. Do not conclude on your situation and foreclose on your wife and children. If you can just believe like Abraham did, you are sure to experience the power of God that builds up your wife and children in righteousness. Just one force is required from you. And that is an undying faith, not in your abilities, experiences, status or even age, but in God. Say like David, trust in him at all times, ye people, pour out your heart before him, God is a refuge for us (Ps.62:8). For the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man avails much. You are a rescue agent. Make it count!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, by Your Spirit, empower me to trust You every step of the way as I lead my wife and children.
  • Father, by the power in the blood of Jesus, deliver me from every spirit of discouragement and fear.
  • Father, by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, teach me how to pray aright for my flock.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I trust in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation, rescue and restoration of my wife and children because it is my heritage as a good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
