GOD MADE YOU A KING (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Rev.5:10-12

More Scriptures: 1Tim.5:7, Gen.14:23, 2Cor.9:8

Yesterday, I shared with you through the help of the Holy Spirit, that you and I as husbands are kings-leaders of affluence. Today, let us look at the other aspect of your personality-a priest. As the head of your family, you are a man of influence. You dictate and determine what happens in and around your home and environment. You stand in the gap to define what is permitted to happen and should not happen. Neither you nor your wife or children can become a subject of societal or environmental manipulation. In Genesis 14, the Scripture opens our eyes to see how a husband did not allow the influence of the king to override his decision. Rather, he dictated the outcome of his conversation with the king. The king wanted to exchange “the persons” with “the goods” (Gen.14:21) but the husband of Sarah says, I will not take from you a thread even to a shoe latchet and that I will not take anything that is thine, least thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich (Gen.14:23).

Furthermore, when Jesus Christ, the perfect example of a good and godly husband, was arrested and taken to Pilate and those who wanted to crucify Him, and it appeared the accusers were trying to influence the outcome, He exercised His priestly authority. He declared, I have the power to call for 12 legions of angels to save me. I have the power to lay my life and I have the power to take it back (Matt.26:53-54). That is who you are.

As the godly husband whom God has made as a priest, you can proactively set the right motion over the lives of your wife and children in any area of their lives-spiritual, academic, relationship, career, marriage, health and much more. But for you to attain this level of influence as the good and godly shepherd, you must do three things. First, you must walk in the consciousness that you are a king and a priest. The word of God says that as a man thinks in his heart, so he is (Prov.23:7). You cannot think slavery and reign as a priest. You cannot think poverty and reign as a king. You must continue to ask the Lord to help you so that the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart would be acceptable to God. And you can also enhance your heart frame by feeding it with pictures from Scriptures. You are a king and a priest. Talk it! Live it! And be profitable to yourself, your wife, children and the marketplaces of life.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, by Your Spirit, endue me with power to reign as a priest in my sheepfold and on the earth.
  • Father, by the blood of Jesus, destroy every spiritual blindness, hindering me from seeing myself as a priest.
  • Father, by Your Spirit, baptize me with a higher dimension of grace and faith and make me to reign as a priest.

FAITH CONFESSION

I walk in the truth of God’s word that I am a priest and I influence my wife and children unto godliness because that is my true nature as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
