LOOK FROM WHERE YOU ARE (1)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gen.13:14-15

More Scriptures: Jer.1:11, Am.7:8, Pro.29:18

And the Lord said unto Abraham, after that Lot was separated from him, lift up now thine eyes and look from the place where thou are northward, and southward, and eastward and westward, for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it and to thy seed forever. (Gen.13:14-15). I must confess and admit that the Spirit of revelation and interpretation is available to everyone who will subscribe to the demands. I have read this Scripture several times. But just recently, a new light came to me. And that is what I want to share with every husband.

As the head of our families, we have always focused on the challenges we may be having with our flock. And the more we focus on these challenges, the more it hinders us from seeing the bigger and better pictures about our sheep. This attitude eventually prolongs the tension at home and creates pressure, bitterness and hatred between us and our flock. God wants you to look away from the problems you are having with your wife and children but look at them. Abraham, the husband of Sarah, had a big challenge with his nephew, Lot. His nephew wanted to take over the entire business. Rather than look at the remnants that his nephew left for him, he lifted his eyes and looked from the issue into the future. That is what God wants you to do-to look beyond the faults and mistakes of your sheep. God has a great future for your wife and children, and He wants you to see it.

But for you to look away from the failure, weaknesses, and negatives of your wife and children and fix your gaze into their glorious future, you must allow the truth of the word of God to gain root in your heart. It is the quantity and quality of the word of God stored in your heart that influences your action toward your wife and children. The word of God paints the picture of the future of your flock. It provides you the frame of your wife and children as designed by God. If you allow the will of God to take hold of your spirit, you will not struggle to look away from their faults. There is no book that can give you the true pictures of your wife and children. Only the Bible can. The Bible is not just a collection of historical events. It is the mind of God for humanity in print. The more you give attention to it, the better your life becomes as the good and godly man, husband and father (Pro.4:20-23).

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, deliver me from spiritual blindness
  • Father, by Your Spirit, give me seeing eyes and hearing ears.
  • Father, by Your Spirit, empower me to be perfect in my walk with You and my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I take my gaze away from the weaknesses and faults of my wife and children and focus my attention into their glorious future because that is my mandate as a good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
