VIGILANCE!!! (1)

I was in church when the Scripture in Mark chapter 13 popped up in my spirit and I want to share it with every husbandman and spiritual head. This is what the word of God says.  And what I say unto you I say unto all, WATCH. (Mark 13:37).

Let me begin by saying that if any husbandman transfers his responsibility, he has indirectly transferred his authority. And if any shepherd can take his covenant place and position in his sheepfold, he will live in victory as the godly man, husband and father. This is why one of the greatest responsibilities that you and I have as the shepherd over our sheep and sheepfold is vigilance. That is being watchful over the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical lives of your wife and children and your family government. It is a spiritual responsibility that you cannot transfer to anyone. It is the hallmark that defines your worth as the leader over the sheep of God in your custody.  It is important for you to note that as the head of your family and the spiritual authority over the members of your sheep, you have a greater role to play as a watchman. You are the shepherd, and your wife and children are your sheep. No one, not even the devil, has the power to influence them unto unrighteousness. Very importantly, you are the access door to their lives No one, I repeat neither satan, sin and the negative influences of the world, can gain entrance into their lives if you keep vigilance.

So, in what areas am I supposed to be a watchman over my wife and children? Firstly, you exercise the watchman responsibility over their spiritual lives. And you do this by interceding for the salvation and establishment of their souls into the kingdom of God and unto righteousness (Gal.4:19). Your greatest heritage is the spiritual wellbeing of your wife and children, because when their spiritual lives are in order, every other area of their lives will fall unto pleasant places (Ps.16:6). Secondly, you must allow your conduct in and out of your home environment to influence your wife and children positively. In Joshua 24:15, the Scripture says of a husband, who influenced not only his family unto following God, but also a whole nation. Remember that Joshua was appointed as the leader after the death of Moses, just the same way God has appointed you head over your wife and children. He was commanded to watch over the people just the same way God has made you a watch man over your wife and children. See what was said of him. And it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom you will serve whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell, BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE WE WILL SERVE THE LORD. And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus and by Your Spirit, endue me with power to vigilant over my wife and children diligently.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus and by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, deliver me from spiritual slumber.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with the Spirit of courage and boldness, as I watch over my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I take responsibility to be vigilant over the total well-being of my wife and children because that is what empowers my glorious destiny as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
