THE POWER OF YOUR IMAGINATION (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gen. 11:4-6

More Scriptures: Jer.1:11, Eph.5:25, Eph.6:4

And they said, go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven, and let is make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the Lord said, behold, the people is one and they have all one language and this they begin to do, and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.  (Gen.11:4-6)

Yesterday, by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, we understood from Scriptures how powerful our imagination is, especially if we have the right images built up from the word of God. We also realize that if we have good and godly images of our sheep in our hearts, no one or thing will be able to influence us to do otherwise.

Now, what must you do to have good and godly images of our sheep? These are the practical steps that you must take. Firstly, you must have a personal relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman. The Bible says that, ye must be born again. This means you must renounce your old ways of sin and the devil and make a new commitment to walk with Jesus Christ. It is this new relationship that opens the door for you to begin to search, discover and apply the commandments, and instructions of Scriptures towards becoming the good and godly husbandman. Secondly, you must guard the gateways to your heart by minding what you hear, see, read and the relationship you keep. The Bible tells us how important this is. It says, as a man thinks in his heart so is he. The quality of your thoughts is a function of what you receive into your mind through what you read, hear, see or interact with. If what you see, read or hear or interact with do not agree with the word of God, walk away from it. Thirdly, you must engage the power of prayer because it is your defence. Jesus Christ speaking said, men ought to always pray and not faint (Lk.18:1).

Praying is not just only to get our daily bread, it is for your personal empowerment. Praying is having a conversation with God to help you become all that He has created you to be. The Bible tells us that, it is not by power nor by might but by the Spirit of the Lord. You need the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to put the images you have of your wife and children in the right perspective of God’s words. Finally, declare your images openly and unashamedly to your wife and children and the marketplaces. Let your wife, children and the people around you know that your sheep are the best thing God has given to you and that you cherish them forever. Have the godly perspective of your wife and children. Have the God-kind of images about your sheep

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me by Your Spirit to have the right images of my wife and children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower my ears to ear rightly and my eyes to see rightly.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the Spirit of truth and revelation as I study Your word.

FAITH CONFESSION

I give attention to the Word of God so that I can have the right images of my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly man, husband and father in Jesus name. Amen.
