Let us take the sixth capsule.

Capsule 6: HUSBANDS HAVE BEEN CREATED TO POSSESS GODLY POSSESSIONS

And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram’s cattle and the herdmen of Lot’s cattle and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled there in the land. (Gen.13:7)

There is one plan God has for you as the shepherd of your wife and children. That plan is for you to prosper materially and financially. The reason for this plan is that He loves you, and He has given you all things to enjoy. He made the heaven and the earth. He owns the silver and gold. The earth is His and all that is on the earth and under the earth. But there is a way to go about possessing your great possessions that will outlast you. And that is what I want to teach today by the help of our Teacher, the Person of the Holy Spirit.

God wants you to possess your possession by doing what is right. As the godly husbandman, God doesn’t want you to possess your possessions whether material or financial by stealing or cheating people. God doesn’t want you to build your wealth by embezzling public funds. He also doesn’t want you to own material and financial possession through diabolic means. This is because whatever you get through fraudulent means will not last. Read this Scripture and rethink again. Wealth obtained by fraud dwindles, but he who gathers gradually by (honest) labor will increase his riches (Pro.13:11) Amp. As the head of the family, you could be under peer pressure to get rich quick. You may also have expectations that you want to meet but you are constrained by the lack of finance. Sometimes, you seem to be at a loss as if living right doesn’t pay. But I want to assure you that God is faithful. He wants you to have a good testimony before your wife and children and the world and ultimately when you conclude your assignment on earth. The blessings of the Lord maketh rich and added no sorrow to it (Pro.10:22). Many husbandmen are sorrowing today because of the way they got their possession. Many cannot sleep. Many have lost their peace. Many more are afraid of tomorrow. And sadly, and in most instances, their sheep are suffering the consequences of their ill-gotten wealth. As the shepherd of the sheep (wife and children) in your pasture, you must understand that God blesses your work and through it He shows you favour and makes you possess goodly heritage.

So, how do I possess my possession like Abraham did? Firstly, you must delight in doing what pleases God. (Ps.1:2). Secondly, you must engage your mind and hands. And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper (Ps.1:3b). The work of your hands is one principal channel through which God empowers you financially. So, if you are lazy, there is no hope for you. And that is not good for you as the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for stealing and using unrighteous means to possess financial and material possession.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to work with my mind and hands for profitable living.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with supernatural wealth.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I am of Christ and I have the seed of success in me and so I possess enduring material and financial possession for the good of my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
