Let us take the seventh capsule.
Capsule 7: NO HUSBAND IS PERMITTED TO BRING FORTH SERVANTS
And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee and KINGS SHALL COME OUT OF THEE (Gen.17:7)
I want you to re-read the last sentence slowly and consciously in Genesis chapter 17 and verse 7. Now, before you re-read it, I need you to answer these questions. Who was God talking to? Was it Abraham the husband of Sarah or his wife? The answer is the husband. Did you also know why God had to address the husbandman, Abraham and not his wife? It is because he is a seed-bearing agent and seed-planting agent. When a husband has sexual relationship with his wife, what he plants inside her womb is the seed he is carrying. And in the fullness of time, the seed becomes a baby, which we all celebrate.
And kings shall come of out thee (Gen.17:7). God has ordained that your seed shall be royalty. God has not planned that your children shall be nonentity on the earth. This is why the word of God says that your children are fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps.139:14). Your children are the heritage from God. You brought to this world because “they are for signs and wonders” (Is.8:18). It doesn’t matter your experience with your children at the moment. God has a great plan for them. I pray in the name of Jesus that you shall not bring forth criminals, murderers, prostitutes, ungrateful, rebellious and ungodly children. Your testimony shall be Isaiah chapter 61:9. And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people, all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the see which the Lord has blessed (Is.61:9).
But how do I make this happen as the shepherd over my children? The first is to give attention to the word of God concerning your children. God’s word is true. It is powerful and effective. It cannot fail. So, the more you search the word of God to mine the will of God for your children, the more informed you are about them. And that will trigger your faith in God who gave the children to you. For the word comes by hearing and hearing the word of God (Rom.10:17). Secondly, you must take personal responsibility to nurture your children in the way and admonition of the Lord. Fathers, provoke not children but bring them up in the way and admonition of the Lord (Eph.6:4). Maybe you are very busy, you can adopt the kingdom strategy in Deuteronomy chapter 6 and verse 7. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children and thou shalt talk of them when thou SITTEST in thine house, and when thou WALKEST by the way and when thou LIEST down and when thou RISEST up. (Deut.6:7). Do you have any excuse to give as the godly father? Can you see a great future for your seed? Make every moment count in the lives of your children, seize the moment, and bring forth great children.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for neglecting my responsibility to my children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, restore my children to righteousness and establish them in the fear of God.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make my children great indeed on the earth.
FAITH CONFESSION
I accept responsibility to nurture my children in the way and admonition of the Lord because they are my seed and that is what makes me the good and godly father in Jesus name. Amen.
