Capsule 8: THE PRESENCE OF GOD PRESERVES THE INHERITANCES OF THE GODLY HUSBANDMAN

Now therefore restore the man his wife, for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live. (Gen.20:7)

Some days ago, we began by reminding ourselves, who are shepherds, that it is the blessings of the Lord that makes rich. And that whatever God gives to you will bring you peace and rest. Today let us consider the 8th capsule from Genesis chapter 20 and verse 7. Abraham, the husband of Sarah, meet with an oppressor, the king. The king believed that he had the power to take what belonged to Abraham, so he took Sarah, the wife of Abraham. Then suddenly, God appeared to the king and commanded him to return Sarah back to her husband, otherwise, him and his household and kingdom will come under His judgement.

This is the message for you. As the head of your family, God is interested in your wife and children because He gave them to you. He is committed to protecting them from oppressors and the wicked plan of the enemy. God also wants to restore your wife and children back to you. So, if your wife and children have been stolen by satan, sin and the world, through carelessness or otherwise, God is saying, “I will restore them to you”. This is what the Scripture says of God promises to restore your inheritance to you. Fear not, O land, be glad and rejoice for the Lord will do great things. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent to you (Joel 2:21,25). Don’t give up on your wife and children, no matter how far you think they may have derailed from you. Don’t allow the devil to make you foreclose on your sheep. Your wife and children can be redeemed.

Now, these are the steps you must take to restore your sheep. The first step is for you trust God, and the only way you can prove that you trust God is to demonstrate your faith in what He has said. Two Scriptures are very important for building your confidence in God. For I am the Lord, I change not, therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. (Mal.3:6). God will not change. If He says He will restore your wife and children who may have been stolen by satan, sin and the devil, He meant it. Like one of my fathers in the faith, Bishop David Oyedepo will always say, God means what He says and says what He means. The second Scripture is found in Isaiah chapter 41 and verse 10. It says, fear not, for I am with thee, do not be afraid….(Is.41:10). Finally, keep declaring what God has said concerning your life as the godly husbandman and not the circumstances.

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the spirit of faith.

FAITH CONFESSION

I partner with God for the restoration of my wife and children back to my sheepfold because that is what makes me the good and godly sheepfold.
