Let us take the twenty-eighth capsule.

Capsule 28: THE HUSBANDMAN IS A RESCUER OF DESTINY

But Jehoshaphat said, IS THERE NOT HERE A PROPHET OF THE LORD, that we may inquire of the Lord by him? And one of the kings of Israel’s servants answered and said, here is Elisha the son of Shaphat which poured water on the hands of Elijah. (2Kgs.3:11)

Today’s teaching is a follow up to what we learnt yesterday by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit.  So, today, we are looking at another important office that you occupy as the husbandman. It is the prophetic office. Jehoshaphat and the people of Israel needed help out of the challenge they were in. And he knew that if a prophet of God showed up, there will be answers. So, he asked, “is there not a prophet of the Lord, here?”. And when he was told that there was one, Elisha, he had peace. That is the heritage of the prophet.

You are a prophet unto your wife and children, and by the prophetic grace upon your life, you have been empowered to secure the glorious destinies of your wife and children from satan, sin and the world. You are a prophet unto your sheep not because you went to a prophetic school or you were ordained by your local church. It is because of your position as the husbandman. Now, therefore, restore the man’s wife FOR HE IS A PROPHET, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die (Gen.20:7). This is God speaking to a king who took another man’s wife. God needed to describe his identity to the king by his office- A PROPHET. The day you married your wife and assume the leadership of your sheepfold was the day you receive the prophetic anointing. That’s who you are. Did you know why the prophetic grace is upon your life? It is to empower you to rescue the destinies of your sheep. God has a glorious plan for your sheep. You must help them get into it. It is written, through a prophet, he brought Israel out of Egypt and by a prophet was he preserved. (Hos.12:13). Satan, sin and the world are daily contending against the saints of God from attaining their fullness in Christ. So, you must not be ignorant of the devices of the wicked. You must not allow your sheep to be vulnerable to attacks and compromise. You must be on the watch for them.

But how do I operate as a prophet unto my wife and children? Principally, you function as a prophet by having a deeper relationship with God by His word and His Spirit, continually. I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet (Rev.1:10). This will help you to know the will and mind of God for your sheep and consequently empower you to enforce the realization in the lives of your wife and children.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, have mercy upon me for not manifesting the prophetic grace over my wife and children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to function as a prophet to my sheep.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to always be in the Spirit to know Your will for my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am ordained a prophet to my wife and children, and I function in the fullness of this prophetic grace on my life because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
