THE CHEQUE ISN’T GOOD FOR PAYMENT

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Acts 19:12-14

More Scriptures: Rom.15:2, Pro.16:7, 2Tim.2:4

A few days ago, the account officer of the bank where the Mission has her account called to inform me that very soon, the current cheque will not be acceptable. I understand that the Central Bank of Nigeria has modified the cheques and banks have asked account owners to request a new cheque book because certain features have been added to it which are not in the old one. So, if you still want to continue to use the old cheque book, it will not be good for payment. There is a lesson here for you and I as husbandmen. You and I must continue to increase in the knowledge of God for us from the Word of God in order to be good and acceptable to our sheep. We must be willing to change from our old and unrighteous ways and start living a life that is well-pleasing to God and our sheep.

As the shepherd over the sheepfold that God has committed into your hands, you must prove that you are indeed who you say you are – the godly man, godly husband and godly father. Your wife and children and the world must validate that you are indeed the good and godly husbandman by the godly features they see in you. Reading from Acts chapter 19, the Scripture gives you a clear understanding that your wife and children know whether you are the godly husbandman or not. Satan even knows. Your family members and friends know. You cannot pretend. It is either you are the godly husbandman, or you are not.

So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons and the diseases departed from them and the evil spirits went out of them. Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits in the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, we adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you (Acts 19:12-14).

So, the question that you must ask today is this, do my sheep know me as the good and godly shepherd? Can those around me testify that I am the good and godly leader in my sheepfold? Can God testify that I am like Him to my sheep and the world?

But how do I become good for payment? I mean what must I do to be validated and be approved by God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, your wife, children and the world. You must allow Jesus Christ and His words to increase in you. The more you allow Him to have His way in your life and in all that you do, the quicker you become the good and godly man, husband and father to your wife and children and the market place of life. Secondly, you must give yourself to the demands of prayer with fasting. These spiritual exercises will help you to access the power of God to live as the good and godly shepherd.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

FAITH CONFESSION

I am good for payment for the good of my wife and children because I am under the influence of Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
