YOU ARE THE SAFETY NET

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Jn.3:14-17

More Scriptures: Jn.8:11, Jn.14:18, Jn.16:24

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved. (Jn.3:14-17)

Jesus Christ is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman. He is also the Bridegroom. So whatever Jesus Christ is to the church is what you are to your wife and children (Eph.5:23-25). You are the bulwark of your sheep. You are their safety net.  and He has shown husbands how to conduct their lives. The coming of Jesus Christ brought joy to the world. That’s what you are ordained for-to bring joy into the lives of your wife and children. God sent you to your wife and children as an agent of joy and not sorrow, burden lifter and burden multiplier. You are not an instrument of unrighteousness but of good works. You are not ordained by God to lead your wife, children and family to destruction. All you are and all you will ever become must be for the blessings of your wife and children.

The Scripture has this to say. I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly (Jn.10:10). As the good and godly shepherd, do your wife and children celebrate you in their lives? Do they see you as a positive addition or a burden? Is your life’s conduct a true reflection of what God commands you to do as the godly man, husband and father? Are you doing the works of righteousness? As the head of your family, you must understand you are the spiritual covering over your wife and children and sheepfold. So, you must execute your leadership roles with all sense of seriousness.

But for you to like Jesus to your wife and children, you must have a surrender your life to Him. This means asking Jesus Christ to become the Lord and saviour. Secondly, you must have, develop and strengthen your relationship with the Person of the Holy, so that He helps you to interpret and understand the Bible when you read it (Jn.14:26). Thirdly, you must give yourself to prayer, asking the Lord Jesus Christ to be a doer of His word because Him you can do nothing (Jn.15:5). Finally, speak in the language of the spirit.

And as you engage in these godly steps toward becoming the good and godly husbandman, you will enjoy peace of mind and with your wife and children. You also leave behind a lasting legacy and you enjoy sweet fellowship with the Person and Power of the Holy Spirit.
