I want you to read this news item carefully.
“A man took sniper (poisonous substance) and died. Yet another locked himself up in the room and hung himself”.
You must be familiar with these sad reports in your country. Recent studies show that there are more widows than widowers. This means that there are more records of husbandmen who are dying. Suicides continue to be on the increase. And this is attributed to a lot of factors, namely, economic, social and finance. Most shepherds have given up on God and on themselves. They cannot see any hope and reason to live. And they think that the best option out of the frustration and pressure is to kill their sheep and themselves. Do not surrender to the spirit of death. The spirit of death thrives on the platform of frustration, disappointments and disapproval. And the result is that the husbandman becomes depressed and sees no value and reason for living. And pronto, he commits suicide.
God is saying to you this morning, hold on! It is not over. God has your back covered. He has you in mind. He is preparing a way of escape for you. He has not abandoned you neither has He forsaken you. It is true that you are going through very difficult times right now, but you must also know that tough times do not last only tough people do. And because you have the life of Jesus Christ in you, you have been empowered to overcome that obstacle.
Read what the Spirit of God is saying to you right now.
“I will restore to you this day, your lands, your vineyards, your olive yards and your houses. I will also restore your finances a hundred-fold, including your corn, your wine and your oil” (Neh.5:11)
The Lord has a word for a husbandman reading this devotional today. It seems you have done everything that you know to do, yet the situation keeps getting worse. Maybe you have prayed, fasted and offered your time and resources to serve the interest of God on the earth, and it looks like the doors have just refused to open for you. Maybe you are about to take that poison or even shoot yourself so that you could end your life and escape the constant attacks from within and without. Well, just hold on! Consider the word in Nehemiah chapter 5 and verse 11 and let it spark hope and assurance in your heart and provide you the strength you need to move up and stay afloat in freedom.
I therefore pray in the name of Jesus that every intention of hell to take your life is nullified. I decree that every unseen force motivating you to commit suicide is destroyed. I command the light of Jesus to shine through the dark alleys of your life and give you peace. I decree that you will not make your wife and widow and your children fatherless by your action. I pray that your heart be opened to see the glorious destiny God has prepared for in Jesus name.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the power of death.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my inner eyes to behold the glorious destiny You have for me, my wife and children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill my heart with joy unspeakable, full of glory and give me peace.
FAITH CONFESSION
I know I can make it, I have found a new life in Christ and I live to enjoy all of God’s blessing with my wife, children and those around me because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
