BUILD ON YOUR MOST HOLY FAITH (1)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Luke 17:5-6

More Scriptures: Heb.11:2, Is.49:17, Ps.23:1

As the good and godly husbandman, there is an important virtue you really require in your leadership role as the godly man, husband and father. It is the virtue of faith in God and His word. And you have the responsibility to build up your faith. And so, in the next few days, let us consider the subject of faith and I pray that your life will reflect confidence, hope and assurance in God and His promises.

And the apostles said unto the Lord, increase our faith. and the Lord said, if ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, be thou plucked up by the root and be thou planted in the sea, and it should obey you (Lk.17:5-6).

In our main text today, you will discover that the apostles of Jesus had been with Jesus. They had seen Jesus heal the sick, made the lame, the deaf to hear, the dumb to speak, and raised the dead. Yet, the apostles couldn’t do as much as Jesus did. So, when they had the opportunity, they asked Jesus, increase our faith (Lk.17:5a)” because they understood that journey ahead will require faith. A lot of the times as husbandmen and heads of our families, we fail to realize that at every turn in our leadership function, we need new levels of faith not just to lead but to reign. This is why you find so many husbandmen becoming frustrated with life and their sheep. For instance, the faith you had when you married your wife and before you both began to have children will not be the same measure of faith you require when the children begin to grow. At every turn or phase of your family life, you need to increase your faith in God and His word. This is because every phase of your life as the good and godly man, husband and father, comes with its own challenges that would require a commensurate measure of faith to handle. So, you must continue to develop your faith level so that you will be able to withstand every challenge rather surrender.

But how do I increase my faith in God and in His word? Firstly, you must have a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ by giving your life to Him. Secondly, you must trust God and His word, unconditionally. Thirdly, you must invest your life in praying the word of God. Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, prayed. He set Himself apart from the crowd to re-energize. Through desire a man having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom (Pro.18:1). God knows all things and has the answers to every challenge. When you connect with Him on your knees, He makes you stand tall above the walls. Fourthly, you must walk in the revelation of God’s word by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit. Fifthly, you must think the word, speak the word and act on the word.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour upon me the spirit of grace and supplication.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill my heart with supernatural faith.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk in boldness and confidence.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I build up faith God and, in His word, as I live and lead my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
