BUILD ON YOUR MOST HOLY FAITH (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Luke 17:5-6

More Scriptures: Heb.11:2, Is.49:17, Ps.23:1

Yesterday, we began this teaching by reminding ourselves that in our journey of leading our sheep, we require the virtue of faith and that if you and I must make the most of our headship as the good and godly husbandmen we must exercise faith in God and His word.

Another way you can grow your faith in God and His word and live a life of triumph as the good and godly husbandman is to keep feeding your spirit man with the word of God. As the godly shepherd, you must understand that you are a three-in-one personality. That is, you have a soul, spirt and body. While your body feeds on food such as rice, beans, yams and the likes, your spirit man feeds on words. So, the more of God’s word you take-in to your spirit man, the greater the heights you would attain in your walk of faith. As the godly husbandman, you must give attention to the word of God. It is the power that saves and gives strength (Rom.1:16). The Scripture gives us the depth and importance of the word of God. In Proverbs chapter 4, the word of God says, my son, attend to my words, incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes, keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life to those that find them and health to all their flesh (Prv.4:20-22).

The word of God is the raw materials you need to expand the muscles of your faith. As you read, study and meditate on the word of God, you are providing your inner man with the right and necessary nutrients it needs to grow. The Bible is not just a compilation of histories, it is the mind of God in written form. The word of God also carries in it the Spirit of God. The word of God also gives meaning to any area of life it is sent to. So shall my word be that it shall not return to me void but shall prosper withsoever it is sent.

As the good and godly man, husband and father, you must understand that leading your wife and children requires so much from you. You will not succeed by power nor by might. It is only by the Spirit and wisdom of God. And this comes when you allow the word of God to gain root in your heart. The word of God is the fuel you need to galvanize strength, boldness, confidence and courage in your life as you commit to lead yourself, your wife and your children. In Heb.11:2, the word of God says, for by it (faith) the elders obtained good report. Every good report that you desire to see today and, in the future, concerning your life and the lives of your wife and children and sheepfold, comes through your walk of faith in God. And you must build and exercise faith in God and His word because that is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, pour upon me the spirit of grace and supplication.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill my heart with supernatural faith.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to walk in boldness and confidence.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I build up faith in God and in His word, even as I live and lead my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
