Main Scriptures: Gen.2:14-25
More Scriptures: Col. 3:21, Ps.22:4, Jer.11:4
Yesterday, we had a break from the teaching series of who you are as the father and what makes you the good and godly father indeed. Today, I want to conclude the serial and I pray that the Spirit of truth and revelation will be poured on you, empowering you to become all that God wants you to be on earth and to your children.
So, what is the next thing you are to do that makes you the real father? You are to design a glorious road map or blueprint for your children. What do I mean by a blueprint? I mean good and godly direction-what they should do, how they should go about what they do, when they should do what they are supposed to do and why they should do what they are doing. The Scripture in Deuteronomy chapter 6 clearly tells you what it means to be the primary architect of designing the road map for your children.
Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgements, which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house and when thou walkest by the way and when thou liest down and when thou risest up (Deut.6:1,8).
It is your responsibility to show your children the way to go because you are the father-figure that represents the life of Jesus Christ. The same way the Church is looking up to Jesus for direction so are your children looking up to you. It is not the duty of your wife or society to design the road map. It is your principal responsibility. Your wife would only execute the plan you have laid for the children. Furthermore, the raw materials you will need to design the road map are contained in the Word of God-The Bible- and not from the rudiments or traditions of the world. The word of God is fool-proof, and it endures the test of time.
But how do I go about designing the road map as the godly father? Firstly, you must acknowledge that you are a teacher of the word of God. Secondly, you must agree that you have been commanded by God to live and teach the principles of Scriptures. Altogether, you talk to them as you sit with them, when you walk with them, when they are about to go to sleep at night and when you wake up in the morning or when you drive with them. You may be busy, but you must learn to take advantage of every moment to minister good and godly values to your children. When you commit to doing this noble assignment willingly and faithfully, you enjoy peace at your old age. Abraham fathered his son, Isaac so well that he had peace at his old age. And Abraham was old and well-stricken in age and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things (Gen.24:1). You will also have positioned your children to walk through life without compromising their values for temporary gains.

- Father, in the Name of Jesus, strengthen my faith to walk in authority in all the affairs of my family life as the father.
FAITH CONFESSION
I take full responsibility to teach, guide, motivate, inspire, protect, care, love, provide and sacrifice my comfort for my children because that is what makes me the good and godly father in Jesus name. Amen.
