LIVE BY THE WORD

Main Scriptures: Isaiah 62:10

More Scriptures: Jn.13:15, 1Jn.2:6, Deut.28:1

Go through, go through the gates, prepare ye the way of the people, cast up, cast up the highway, gather out the stones, lift up a standard for the people (Is.62:10).

As the good and godly husbandman, God wants you to prepare the way for your wife and children by developing godly rules for your home. This is the beauty of your leadership as the head of the family. And the Bible becomes the basis on which you develop the rules that will govern your home. Very importantly, you have to live by the godly values and guide your wife and children in obeying and living the godly principles. No husbandman is worth his position as the leader if he has no biblical principles guiding his life. It is worse if neither his wife nor children are following him. Your life must motivate your wife and children and the people around you to want to aspire to be the best in life. Your life must become a standard that anyone would want to emulate and publicly talk about. Jesus, the perfect example of the good and godly husband, set up standards for His disciples and the world at large. The Scripture says, for I have given you an example that ye should do as I have done to you (Jn.13:15).

Have you set biblical principles for your life and your sheepfold? What kind of standard have you set? Are they principles of holiness, righteousness, diligence, independence, good work ethics, selflessness, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, giving and loyalty? The Bible is your best source to develop principles that God expects you to live by for a profitable life as the good and godly man, husband and father. Abraham, the husband of Sarah, set up a standard of diligence, perseverance, and hope for his son, Isaac. Isaac continued from where his father stopped and set one for Jacob.

But for you to be able to set godly principles for your life and for your wife and children, you must give attention to the word of God, believe what it says and obey all that it commands. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also to walk, even as he walked (1Jn.2:6).

It shall come to pass if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandment which I command thee this day ……(Deut.28:1).

As the good and godly husbandman, you must live by the word of God. Because if you do live and lead your wife and children by the word of God, it will be impossible for anyone to toss you around, make you to compromise and live an unfulfilled life. God wants your life, action and conduct to be guided by His instructions. And He wants those godly principles to be the road map and standard for your wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I take responsibility to prepare the way for my life, wife, children and the people around me through godly principles because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
