Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gen.12:1-3

More Scriptures: Am.6:1, Mic.2:10, Deut.12:9

Get out of your comfort zone, is the admonition to a husbandman reading today’s devotional. Your comfort zone may not be your physical country or location but a relationship you are involved in. It may also be some addictions or hobbies. It may be even be some lifestyles. Whatever zone you are in that has defiled your life and corrupted your relationship with God, now is the time to get out. Today is the day for you to get in with Jesus Christ.

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show you. And I will make thee a great nation and I will bless thee and make thy name great and thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curseth thee and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed (Gen.12:13).

The destiny of Sarah’s husband did not change positively until he changed his location and association. As the good and godly husbandman who wants to attain the fullness of his calling as the head of your family, you must detach your life from some friendships, relationships and addictions. Perhaps, you may have to get out of that company of friends who always take you to visit the bar where you consume alcohol and eventually fall into adultery. You may also have to cut down on your addiction to anything that takes your attention away from God and your wife and children. You must detach yourself from hobbies that seem to take you farther away from the plan and purpose of God for your life.

But how do I get my freedom from ungodly relationships, unhealthy lifestyles and unrighteous behavior as the good and godly husbandman? Can I really break from addiction? Yes, you can be free because Jesus Christ has set you free. Tomorrow, by the grace of God, the word of God will provide the answers for your escape.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with power from on high to walk in the fullness of my calling as the good and godly husbandman.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from ungodly associations and addictions.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me power to refuse evil and stand for what is good and righteous.

FAITH CONFESSION

I come out from among every association, friendship and activity that wants to take me away from God and my wife and children because I strive to be the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
