GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Am.6:1-2

More Scriptures: Am.6:1, Mic.2:10, Deut.12:9

Woe to them that are at ease in Zion and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came! Pass ye unto Calneh, and see and from thence go ye to Hamath the great, then go down to Gath of the Philistines…. (Am.6:1-2). There are so many grounds for you to cover as the good and godly husbandman in your family. You cannot afford to waste your time and resources in unrighteous and ungodly relationships, indulgences, habits and addictions. Now is the time to make the decision to get out of those areas of sin and its appeals.

But how do I get out and be free? Firstly, by speaking continually the truth of God’s word to yourself and to others. Remember that the word of God describes you as the light of the world in Matt.5:14-16. You set the standards for others to follow. You are a pacesetter and an instrument of righteousness. The second action step you must take is for you to engage the power of prayer and fasting (Mk.9:29). There are people and company and even activity that would not just let you go without a fight. You must contend against them. In Mic.6:1, the word of God says… contend thou before the mountain (Micah 6:1). Prayer is one spiritual weapon you must employ to come out from every ungodly circumstance. When you pray, you are empowered by the Spirit of God to subdue negative and ungodly influences. So, prayer is not just a platform for you to ask God to meet your material and financial needs. It is also for you to ask for supernatural empowerment and fellowship with the power of the world to come. Thirdly, you must confess your liberty in Christ openly and unashamedly. In Rom.10:10, the scripture has this to say. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Rom.10:10). You must speak out what you have believed because that is the way you can secure your freedom from ungodly influences. God always honours your declarations (Num.14:28). Can you see freedom in view? Yes, you can!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with power from on high to walk in the fullness of my calling as the godly man, husband and father.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from ungodly associations and addictions.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me power to refuse evil and stand for what is good and righteous.

FAITH CONFESSION

I come out from every association, friendship, habit and activity that wants to take me away from God and my wife and children because I strive to be the good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
