MOSES LED THEM VERY FAR

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Ex.1:1

More Scriptures: Lk.18:1, Deut.28:1, Ps.92:1

One day Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priests of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God. (Ex.3:1)

God does not want you to lead your wife and children halfway in life. God wants you to lead them far until they fulfill His plan for their lives, the same way Moses led the sheep far to the mountain of God.

Moses was a shepherd. He tended the flock of his father-in-law. He was not only faithful to his assignment, he also cultivated the sheep until they arrived the good land-the mountain of God. This is the life God expects from you. God wants you to intentionally invest in your wife and children in order to bring out the best from them. God wants you to lead your sheep through until they become all that He has purposed for them. And this covers their spiritual, mental, emotional, physical and relationship. God wants to make your wife and children all round success and He needs you to provide the right platform.

So, what must I do to lead them far? Firstly, you must be faithful to God, your wife, children and to the whole commandments of the office of the husbandman from the word of God. As the head of your family and the spiritual leader and shepherd over your sheep, there is the need to walk in total obedience to what God has commanded (Deut.28:1). The second practical step you must take is to develop a life of prayer and intercession. Satan hates the truth that you are in charge of your family fold. He fought the first family in Genesis chapter 3 and he is still fighting today.  Satan will try to cause confusion between you and your wife and children and set up invincible walls. The only way you can defeat him and all his works is through the weapon of prayer. Men ought to always pray and not faint (Lk.18:1). Another weapon is praise. You must stop complaining about your wife and children. Rather, you must be thankful to God for giving you a wife and making you a father.

God wants you to tend your wife and children, and He desires you to do it excellently to the glory and praise of His name.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the power of complaining and murmuring about my wife and children.
  • Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me with the Spirit of grace and supplication to make the most of my calling as the godly shepherd.
  • Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to be faithful to You, my wife, children and the demands of the husbandman.

FAITH CONFESSION

The same God that made Moses a faithful servant is working in me, thereby making me the faithful man, husband and father to my wife and children in Jesus name. Amen.
