Did you know the token of your identity in your relationship with your wife? Did you know how to connect and identify with the soul of your wife? The answer is in your kiss.
Just as he was speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, appeared. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders. Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them. “The one I kiss is the man, arrest him and lead him away under guard”. Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, “Rabbi!” and kissed him. The men seized Jesus and arrested him (Mk.14:43-46).
No one among those who came to arrest Jesus Christ knew Jesus. But through the kiss Judas planted on Jesus Christ, the arrestor could identify Him. Kissing your wife is not only a romantic obligation, it is a spiritual connection. Your kiss on your wife binds your soul with hers in love. But how do I kiss and where? You may choose to kiss her on her forehead or cheeks. They are all channels to her inner soul. And you must learn to do it as regularly as possible. When you are leaving the house for work, plant a kiss on her forehead or cheek.
God wants you to enjoy your wife. God wants you to have every reason to love your wife, notwithstanding her weaknesses and failures. Consider the word of God in Ecclesiastics for a moment and let that motivate you to honour God by honouring your wife with your kiss. Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun (Ecc.9:9) NIV.
Don’t allow anyone or circumstances make you deny your wife the benevolence of your kiss. Engage the spiritual act of kissing your wife and experience your relationship with your wife flooded with freedom, joy in the Holy Ghost. It is wisdom to kiss your wife. It is godly. It is the way to go.
