Thirdly, you must give attention to the study of God’s word and meditate on the word of God as a way of life. This book of the law shall not depart from thy mouth, thou shalt meditate on it day and night……(Jos.1:8). And in John chapter 5, the word of God says, search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life and they are they which testify of me (Jn.5:39). The Bible is not just a collection of events, it is the Spirit of God in print. The more you search the Bible, the better you become at knowing who you are in Christ and exercising your God-given authourity over satan, sin and the world.
Fourthly, you must sow, grow and develop the seed of faith in you. You and I as heads of our sheepfold have a measure of faith. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Rom.12:3).
As you lead your wife and children, you will be confronted by oppositions, hindrances and efforts by satan, sin and the world. If you have not developed your faith in God sufficient enough to overcome the challenges, you will be defeated by satan, sin and the world. The word of God says, by faith the elders obtained good report (Heb.11:2). If you want to obtain victory, which is an evidence of a good report as the good and godly shepherd, you must intensify your faith walk. You must trust God so much that you may look foolish and unwise. You must take God at His word. You must act on God’s word over that rebellious spirit ravaging your sheep, that sickness and oppression tormenting your wife and children, that recurrent stagnation, setback and failure.
You can stop the recurrent negative tendencies in your home and in the lives of your wife and children. You can recreate heaven in your home and relationship you have with your wife and children. All you need is to have faith, grow and develop your faith and exercise it over every challenge that satan and the world throw at you.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to exercise my authourity over the wiles of the devil.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the spirit of fear and timidity.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with the spirit of faith for a victorious living.
FAITH CONFESSION
I have power with God and I exercise the authority of Christ in me over satan, sin and the world because I am the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
