Bible Texts: Gen.1:26-28, Lk.10:19, Rom.8:37, 2Kgs.4:17-20, 1Thess.5:14
God wants you to exercise authourity over stagnation in your life and the lives of your wife and children, untimely death, waste and losses, delays and misfortunes, sicknesses, diseases and affliction, oppression of all kinds, barrenness and emptiness, struggles and repeated failures, spiritual dryness and lack and want. So, do not oppress, abuse, victimize, torment and degrade your wife and children and claim you are exercising authourity as the head of the family. It is not good and godly. Instead, if your sheep offends you, the Bible provides you the action to take. Now, we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men (1Thess.5:14). If you physically or emotionally beat your wife or children, you are hurting them. That is not godly authourity.
Now that you understand that you are a man of authourity, what does it take for the husbandman to begin to exercise his authourity?
Firstly, you must be born again. In John gospel chapter three, Jesus Christ speaking said, ye must be born again….(Jn.3:7). Having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by accepting that you are a sinner and repenting of your sins, is a must for the husbandman to exercise godly authourity in the kingdom of God. Please, if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, kindly go to the inside cover of the back page of this devotional and pray the prayer. It is a prayer of salvation. Thereafter, you are encouraged to join a Bible believing church where the word of God is taught in truth.
Secondly, you must have and continue to deepen your relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ, He is Lord of all (Acts.10:36). The Bible further reveals the secrets of Jesus’s authority on earth. In John chapter 3 and verse 30, the Bible says of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, he (God) must increase and I (Jesus) must decrease (Jn.3:30).
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to dominate all forms of oppression in and around my wife and children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower to secure my sheepfold from all harassment of the enemy.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a more than a conqueror shepherd.
FAITH CONFESSION
I exercise the authority of Jesus Christ over the works of satan, sin and the world, and secure my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
