PUT ON THE LORD JESUS, EVERYDAY

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Rom.13:11-14, Matt.5:14-16, Acts 1:1. Jn.3:5-7, 2Cor.5:17, Rom.6:1, Mk.9:29, Ps.1:1-3, Jn.5:39, 2Tim.2:15, Gal.4:19, Philp.2:13, Philp.4:8

God wants the husbandman to be a good and godly representative both at home and in the marketplace. God wants the husbandman to always demonstrate the image and nature of Jesus Christ in every circumstance. But how does the husbandman live out the life of Christ? He does it by putting on the Lord Jesus Christ and making no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lust.

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lust (Roms.13:11-14)

As the husbandman, you must adorn the Lord Jesus Christ, the same way you wear your dress, so He can influence your thoughts, your conduct, actions, responses and reactions. What you think, say and do must show that you are indeed in Christ (2Cor.5:17).

As the husbandman, you must not make provision for the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. You must continue to allow the Word of God to take preeminence in your life (Jn.5:39, Philp.4:8).

Therefore, putting on Jesus Christ is the light that shines in your life, in your relationship with your wife and your children and in the marketplace (Matt.5:14-16). That is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.

Hallelujah!
