OCCUPY TILL JESUS CHRIST COMES (2)

Bible Texts: Lk.19:13, Lk.19:13, Ps.139:14, Gen.12:2, Jn.10:10, Gal.4:19

As the head of the family and the good and godly shepherd, you must appreciate that your wife and children are raw materials given to you by God. That respectful, loyal, faithful, kind, supportive, obedient and diligent wife and children you desire is only in your head. You must work to make your wife and children manifest those wonderful virtues. Dr. Myles Munroe says and I quote, “If you do not like what you see, change what you give”. God has given you a wife and also children and sheepfold to work on until He returns.

In Ephesians chapter 5 and verse 25-27, the word of God says, husbands, love your wives even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word; that he might present it to himself, a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish (Eph.5:25-27). God has made you a custodian of His precious assets to build, develop and grow unto godly maturity. But for you to get the best out of your wife and children and sheepfold, you must be strong and courageous (Jos.1:8). Secondly, you must walk by faith and not by sight (Heb.11:2, 32). Thirdly, you must continue to deepen your knowledge of Jesus Christ and what He commands you to do. That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection (Philip.3:10).

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places…..  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. (Eph.6:11-18).

Don’t watch your wife and children slide into ungodliness. Put on the whole armor of Christ to make them worthy vessels unto God.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I break every stronghold occupying any space in my sheepfold.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I overcome satan, sin and the world by the blood of Jesus.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, keep my wife, children and sheepfold in perfect peace.

FAITH CONFESSION

I take charge of the lives of my wife, children and sheepfold in righteousness, peace and joy of the Holy Ghost because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
