LEADING TO VICTORY

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Rom.8:36-38, Eph.6:12, Heb.11:2-3, 2Cor.5:17, Rev.12:10, Lk.18:1, Lk.10:19, Jude 1:20, Jn.1:1-3, Jos.1:6-8

God has ordained you to lead your life, wife and children to victory. In your journey as the good and godly husbandman, you are serving match point against satan, sin and the world. Now, what is the attitude of a player who is serving match point? The player exudes confidence and unusual courage. All of these attributes attract the spectators to be sure that the player with the advantage and serving match point would win the contest.

As the shepherd over your wife and children, God has made you to have advantage over the challenges that come with leading your wife and children. According the word of God, you are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus (Rom.8:37). Before the pressures show up, God has made provision for your victory-victory over sin, untimely death, bitterness, adultery and stealing, unforgiveness and hatred, hopelessness and doubts. So, just like the player who has the advantage in serving match point and displaying all the nature of a victor, you are serving match point with victory in sight. You are not serving the match point against your wife and children but against principalities and powers and rulers of darkness in high places (Eph.6:12).

But for you to have an edge over the pressures of sin, satan and the world, you must decide who leads you. The word of God tells us that, the person we yield our bodies to is our master. So, the question to you is this. Who is your master? Who is leading you? Is the Person Jesus Christ or satan? If He is Jesus Christ, you are guaranteed victory. If it is satan, you are heading for disappointments and failures.

To become a victor and reign as the godly husbandman, you must make Jesus Christ your Lord and personal Saviour and allow Him to take first place in your life and all that concerns you (2Cor.5:17). Secondly, you must continue to feed your faith appetite with the word of God and by speaking boldly. Faith is a spiritual force. If you don’t make conscious effort to feed it so that it can grow to overcome the challenges of life, you may be swallowed up. The word of God is the source of your ever growing and ever winning faith (Jn.1:1-3, Heb.11:2-3, Jude 1:20). And finally, you must keep your prayer altar burning (Lk.18:1). As the head, you don’t only ask God to provide all your financial and material needs, you also must pray for the empowerment of your spirit man to be stirred up by the Spirit of faith.

The challenges within and outside of your sheepfold are surmountable. You are a victor! Therefore, make your headship count for God, your wife, children and the world.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with the Spirit of uncommon faith and boldness.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me hearing ears and seeing eyes to behold wonders from Your word.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with the spirit of grace and supplication for a victorious life.

FAITH CONFESSION

God has ordained me a victor and I serve match point against the forces of hell, sin and the world to secure the glorious destiny of my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husband in Jesus name. Amen.
