Let’s begin today’s teaching by looking at John chapter 15 and verse 5.
Without me, you can do nothing (Jn.15:5). Jesus Christ is the One speaking here and He is the called the Anointed and the Holy Ghost personified, according to John chapter 14 and verse 26.
As the good and godly husbandman, God has ordained you to lead your life, wife and children in the fear of the Lord and all round righteousness. But you cannot succeed without the Holy Ghost power. You need and will need the anointing of the Holy Ghost to carry out your leadership function effectively and maximally. A lot of husbandmen are operating below their capacities because of the lack of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. And when the husbandman lacks the anointing, he begins to make foolish decisions which may adversely affect his life, wife and children and the society.
But what is the anointing of the Holy Ghost? The anointing of the Holy Ghost is the power of God that empowers, guarantees, establishes and stabilizes the assignment of the good and godly husbandman to the end that he succeeds as the good and godly man, husband and father. The anointing is what gives credibility and power to the voice of the good and godly husbandman that will make him valuable and honourable to God, his wife, children and in the market place of life (Matt.5:14-16).
As the godly husbandman, the anointing of God on your life is what brings solutions to any friction or challenge that you may have in your life and with your wife and children. Interestingly, one of the gifts of the Holy Ghost is the spirit of wisdom. And so, if the anointing is upon your life, the spirit of wisdom dwells in you. And if the spirit of wisdom dwells in you, you will be able to handle any challenge that may show up. There is no challenge that the anointing of the Holy Ghost cannot handle. There is no positive virtues you desire for your life, be it honesty, truthfulness, purity, faithfulness, hospitality, compassion, kindness, giving, prayerfulness, humility of heart, that the anointing cannot make happen for you.
However, for you to get the anointing and keep it flowing on your life with power, you must do the following as a way of life. You must be born again and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord (Jn.3:5, 2Cor.5:17). Secondly, you must acknowledge that you need empowerment of the Holy Spirit. This is because, without the anointing, which represents the power of God, there is little you can do. You must thirst for the anointing. Thirdly, you must be baptized and pray for the anointing by praying in the Holy Ghost. So, if you have not been baptized in the Holy Ghost, I encourage you to do so. This impartation will energize your spirit man to receive clear instructions from God on the right steps to take, the right words to speak and the right place to go.
The Person of the Holy Spirit is your best partner and His anointing is your victory ticket to live a victorious life as the good and godly man, husband and father.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, I desire the empowerment of the Holy Ghost today more than ever before.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with power of the Holy Ghost for a victorious life as the good and godly shepherd.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the empowerment of the Holy Ghost in my life lead to success in my calling as the husbandman.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am empowered by the anointing of the Holy Ghost and that makes me to live a victorious life and lead my wife and children in the right way as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
