THE PROSPEROUS HUSBANDMAN (1)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: 1Cor.3:1-3, 2Cor.9:7, Lk.6:48, Mal.3:10-14, Heb.13:8, Ps.1:1-4, Ps.23:1, 3Jn.1:2, Hag.1:17, Is.1:19

“The Lord Jesus Christ wants you to prosper. He wants you to have sufficiency in all things so that you can abound unto every good works” That is the word of the Lord for the husbandman reading today’s devotional.

By the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, we shall be exploring the word of God to discover His plans for our prosperity and how you and I can access our riches in Christ Jesus. I pray, in the name of Jesus Christ, that you and I will be empowered by God to enjoy all round prosperity. Amen.

Many times the good and godly husbandman struggles to understand how God blesses, financially and why He does so. The husbandman seems to be living from hand to mouth. He hardly makes ends meet and fulfill his covenant obligations as the provider. This is the position of many good and godly husbandmen. But the will of God is for the husbandman to prosper and be in health even as his soul prospers (3Jn.1:2).

Let me share with us four principal ways or channels to accessing God’s financial plans for your life which the Person of the Holy Spirit revealed to me from His word. And that is what I will be sharing with you today and in the next few days.

Financial giving! I need you to understand that your financial giving is a major memorial to God. Every time you give of your financial seeds cheerfully, it ascends to God as a sweet smelling savour (1Kgs.3:1-3, 2Cor.9:7). So, do not lose hope. The heaven over your finances is opening right now in Jesus name. Amen.

So how does God bless you financially? Firstly, when you give, God speaks to you. In 1st Kings Chapter 3 and verse 1 to 3, after Solomon gave, God responded to his giving by speaking to him. God asked him to place a demand on what He would want Him to do for him. And because God has not changed, He stills speaks (Mal.3:6, Heb.13:8). This is my personal testimony.

In December 2007, I attended a church programme. And while the man of God called for an offering, I was led to give and I did give. I was expecting a financial harvest because it is in line with the will of God. If thou will be willing and obedient, thou shall eat the fruit of the land (Is.1:19). I obey by giving and I was expecting a harvest as quickly as I wanted it. But on a particular Sunday in February, 2018, I asked the Lord how will He bless me? And He spoke to me that He will give me a gift every month for the rest of my life. To the glory of God, I have always received a gift every month since February 2008 till the month of November 2022.

A lot of the times as good and godly husbandmen, we give but never expect anything. We sow our financial seed and do not think of a harvest. It is like the unwise farmer who plants seed and when he is asked if he is expecting a harvest, he says no. And that is why God says you must not just be obedient in giving your seed, you must show the will that you want to eat the good of the land. God wants to bless you in the land you are in right now. God wants to bless you in the country where you are in right now. You have giving your resources to advance the course of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the good of humanity. Are you willing to eat the good of the land?

God bless you richly.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with the giving grace and make me to eat the good of the land.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to give willingly and cheerfully.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to see, recognize and apply myself to the ways You want to bless me.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am a giver and a channel of God’s blessings to humanity because that is what empowers me to continue to reign as the prosperous, good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
