Yesterday, by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, we understood that God wants us to prosper and His perfect will is for us to have all sufficiency in all things and abound unto every good works. We also learnt that when we give, God speaks to us, to the end that we are established in His financial plan for our lives.
Today, let us proceed. When you give, God touches the hearts of men to gravitate with their financial and material resources in your direction to give to you. In Luke chapter 6 and verse 48 has this to say in that respect.
Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down shaking together and running over shall men give to your bosom…. (Lk.6:38). The word of God says, so shall men give to your bosom. As the good and godly husbandman who wants to prosper, you must understand that the silver and gold that you require to live a comfortable life and be a channel of blessings to your wife and children and the world belong to God but He has placed them on earth and in the hands of men. The Scripture says in Haggai that “the silver is mine and the gold is also mine”.
When you give your financial and material resources for the promotion of the work of God and the good of mankind, He touches the hearts of men to give to you. I recall some years ago, I got a call from my father figure. He needed to pay his rent. I did not have all the money he requested for but I had something to offer. I sent the money to him in the morning and he prayed and blessed me. Before I closed from work that same day, my client called me and requested for my account number. He said that he needed to send me something for the weekend. To the glory of God, my account was credited with nearly ten times what I gave.
The resources, including men, money and material, you require and will ever need lie dormant on earth and with men. You can attract these blessings by the force of giving because your giving is what you use to build your favour bank with God and man. The Word of God tells us that Jesus Christ found favour before God and man because He gave and continues to give to mankind. He gave His precious life as a seed (Jn.3:15-16).
Do not think that you do not have anything to give. As the good and godly husbandman, there is something God has given to you that you can sow as a seed. It is not the size that determines the quality of your seed but the value that you place on it that determines the quality. Therefore, begin from today to ask the Spirit of God to fill you with the giving grace.
Be a cheerful giver and continue to give.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with the giving grace and make me to eat the good of the land.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to give willingly and cheerfully.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to see, recognize and apply myself to the ways You want to bless me.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am a giver and a channel of God’s blessings to humanity because that is what empowers me to continue to reign as the prosperous, good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
