THE LAW OF THE HUSBANDMAN-CHAPTER 4

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Gal.4:19, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, 1Thess.5:17, Jn.15:5, Is.61:9, Jn.10:10, Lk.10:19, Is.30:21, Rev.12:11, Jer.33:3, Matt.7:7

Chapter 4!

Chapter 4 of the law of the husbandman commands him to pray for himself and to intercede for his wife and children, as a lifestyle and a necessity for living.

Let us consider these verses of Scriptures.

I travail in birth until Christ is formed in you…(Gal.4:19). This is intercession.

Men ought to always pray and faint (Lk.18:1). This is prayer for yourself.

Prayer and intercession are important spiritual discipline the husbandman needs to become what God wants him to be and to influence his wife and children for good and for God. As the husbandman, God demands that you live out His kind of life through Jesus Christ. God also expects your wife and children to turn out as good and godly vessels. But neither you nor your wife and children will fulfill God’s plans nor purposes expect by the help of the Spirit of God, which is powered by prayer and intercession.

Without me you can do nothing (Jn.15:5).

As the husbandman, you must pray without ceasing (1Thess.5:17). You must pray for the fulfillment of the will of God for you as the good and godly man, husband and father. You must intercede for your wife and children so that they can grow and become like the seeds that the Lord has blessed (Is.61:9).

But why is this chapter an indispensable tool for me?

Prayer and intercession builds your power base, confidence and faith in God and His ability. With this you declare only the best of God for your life and the lives of your wife and children.

Secondly, you connect to power of the world to come that puts you in command of the circumstances of life, giving you authority to stop the influences of satan, sin and the world in and around your life and the lives of your wife and children (Lk.10:19, Jn.10:10, Heb.11:30-32, Rev.12:10-11).

Finally, you grow and mature in the things of God because you are able to hear from God on what to do, what steps to take, where to go, how to go about your plans and decisions, what to say and the ability to discern (Is.30:21).

As you search the Bible to know the mind and will of God for your life and the lives of your wife and children, invest your time to pray and intercede for the fulfillment (Mk.9:29). Therefore, make prayer and intercession your daily commitment.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the spirit of laziness and slumber.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with the spirit of grace and supplication.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to keep my prayer altar burning by Your word and power.

FAITH CONFESSION

As a lifestyle, I pray for myself and intercede for my wife and children that the perfect will and purposes of God will be fulfilled in our lives because that is what gives value to my calling as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
