FORCE OF CHANGE: DAY 52

Spread the love

CULTIVATING THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE (1)

Bible Texts: Hab.3:17-19, Matt.11:6, Ps.98:1, Ps.96:12, Ps.100:1-2, Is.61:3, Ps.119:89, Num.23:19, Philp.4:4, Philp.2:13, 1Thess.5:16-18, 2Chro.20:22, Matt.7:7, Jn.10:10

As the good and godly husbandman, the attitude of gratitude is a spirit that God wants us to have and only the Spirit of God can give it. And the altar of prayer and fasting is the platform God has provided for us to access the power that makes us grateful to God in all things and for all things. I pray that the ongoing 70 days of fasting and prayers shall empower us with the spirit of thanksgiving and destroy every root of murmuring and ingratitude in Jesus name. Amen.

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines, the labour of the olive shall fail and the fields shall yield no meat, the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and the there shall be no herd in the stalls. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will joy in the God of my salvation (Hab.3:17-18)

The word of God in Habakkuk says that notwithstanding the fact that there is no fruit in the vine, the tree did not blossom and the fields did not yield meat, there is one attitude we must have if we want to win. You and I must rejoice in the Lord and joy in the God of our salvation.

As the husbandman, it may appear as if things are rough for you today or you do not seem to be gaining the speed you anticipate. It may look as if your world is crumbling. It may even seem as if all your efforts and labour you are putting are not yielding the results you want to see. It may look as if you have reached the end of the road and your back is against the wall and there seems to be no way of escape for you. God is saying to you this morning, rejoice. God is telling you today to be hopeful. God wants you to change your attitude from hopelessness, anger and bitterness to thanksgiving, praise and joy. Inspite of the challenges, the Spirit of God is asking you to be joyful.

You must be intentional about your attitude of gratitude to God and His word. You must be deliberate to give God thanks as a sacrifice. The word of God calls it the sacrifice of your praise.

But how do I cultivate the attitude of gratitude and be joyful?
