THE WORD OF GOD IS TRUE, DON’T FIGHT IT!

Spread the love

Bible Texts: 2Cor.13:7-8, Ps.119:105, Jn.8:32, Rom.12:2, Jn.17:17, Jn.1:3-5, Gen.2:14-18, Matt.5:14-16, Ezk.2:2, Ps.1:1-3, 3Jn.1:2

Yesterday, by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, we understand that the weapon of our warfare that guarantees victory is the word of God. If we give attention to the word of God, study it, believe what it says and we act on the instructions and commandments, we will become the good and godly men, husbands and fathers.

Today, let us move a step further by exposing the trick satan uses against the husbandman. It is the trick of believing the tradition and culture of the world over and above the principles of Scriptures. This has become the challenge many husbandmen are confronted with. The husbandman struggles to come to terms with the truth of the word of God about who he is and what God expects from him. This is why we have many husbandmen who are not living out the very life of Christ as the good and godly man, husband and father.

But what is the perfect will of God for you? God doesn’t want you to work against the truth of Scriptures but to agree, believe and act on the word.

Now I pray to God that ye do no evil not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates. For we can do nothing against the truth but for the truth (2Cor.13:7-8)

As the good and godly husbandman, you must understand that the constitution that guides your conduct, utterances, relationships, and all aspects of your life is the Bible. From the beginning when God created the office of the husbandman (Gen.2:14-18), He had designed great plans for him (3Jn.1:2). And so He wants you to believe Him and His word and not fight or resist it. Therefore, you must accept the truth of Scriptures as the final authority in your decisions, actions and as you relate with your wife and children and the world at large (Matt.5:14-16).

But what do I benefit if I allow the word of God to rule my life as the husbandman?

Firstly, it makes you good and godly because the word of God influences your attitude, conduct and disposition to be like Jesus Christ to your wife and children and the world (Rom.12:1-3, Eph.5:25). Secondly, it guides and gives you direction as you lead your life, wife and children. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Ps.119:105). Thirdly, the word of God illuminates your heart to see farther and better for your life, wife and children. The word shines in darkness and the darkness cannot comprehend it (Jn.1:5).

As the husbandman you must be driven by the vision, roles, plans and purposes of God as contained in the word of God for your life and the lives of your wife and children. You must also acknowledge that God created you for His glory. So, if you must succeed, you must seek Him and His word and do exactly what the word commands and instructs. Always remember that your greatest heritage as the good and godly husbandman is measured by your obedience to the word of God.

Make your life count unto God, your wife, children and in the market place of life by the word of God because God’s word is true.
