ALLOW JESUS TO BUILD FOR YOU

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Ps.127:1-2, Heb.11:6, Jn.15:3-5, 1Pet.5:5, Acts 15:16, Matt.7:7, Ps.51:10, Lk.18:1, Eph.6:4, Col.3:17-19, Gal.4:19

Let’s start today’s teaching by asking this question. As the husbandman, who is building your life and home? Hold on to your answer until after you have studied today’s devotional.

As the good and godly husbandman, there are so many things calling for your attention. You have so much that you would like to achieve which have not happened. Sometimes, if you are not careful, you may bring the frustrations and agitations to the home front. A lot of the times, you are at crossroad of what else to do and because of this you seem to be losing the energy and faith to lead your life, your wife and children. Wait a second! There is good news for you. And that good news is found in Ps.127:1

Except the Lord builds the city, they labour in vain that build it; except the Lord watches over the city the watchmen waketh but in vain (Ps.127:1)

Except God builds and watches over your life, your wife, children and sheepfold, you would continue to struggle as the head. God gave you your home, wife and children in the first place. So, it is wisdom to make Jesus the Lord over all. God is interested in the good of your home. God wants you to prosper and be respected and honoured by your wife and children. God wants you to function optimally with proofs and results as the good and godly man, husband and father. But He will need you to invite Him before He can be involved.

Call unto me and I will answer you (Jer.33:3)

You must learn to call on God through Jesus Christ. You must make Him the Lord over all that concerns you (Acts.10:32-36). Once you allow Jesus Christ to take the Lordship over your life, wife and children and your home, you will reign supreme as the good and godly man, husbandman and father. God will build and watch over your family when you acknowledge Him as your helper, and when you allow His word to rule your home and influence your decisions as the husbandman.

But there are two important attitudes you must have when you are inviting Jesus Christ to build your life, the lives of your wife, children and home.

The first is that you must believe that when you invite Him, He will come.

Without  faith, it is impossible to please him, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Heb.11:6)

The second is that you must come to Him in the humility of your heart because you need His presence and helps.

Without me, ye can do nothing (Jn.15:4-5).

As you engage with God through Jesus Christ our Lord, to build and watch over your life as you lead, you will enjoy God kind of peace, joy and success, making you to fulfill your covenant calling of the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, come and take Your rightful place in my life.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me to trust You and Your word at all times.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, please build and watch over my life, wife, children and home.

FAITH CONFESSION

I willingly surrender my life and family to God to build and watch over because I know He will help me to become the good and godly husbandman to my wife and children in Jesus name. Amen.
