LET YOUR CONDUCT BE ORDERLY

Spread the love

Bible Texts: 2Thess.3:1-16, Matt.5:14-16, 1Tim.3:1-5, Philp.4:8, 1Pet.3:7-9, 1Cor.13:11, 1Tim.5:7-8, Deut.6:4-10, Col.3:19, Ps.23:1-4, Eph.6:4, Eph.5:25

Over the past few days and by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, we, as husbandmen, are learning how to maximize our leadership position in our homes as the man, husband and father. I want you to give attention the Bible texts for today and study them and write down what the Person of the Holy Spirit will be teaching you and make a decision to obey all that He instructs you to do.

Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us, for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you (2Thess.3:6-7)

The lesson from the above Scripture is that as the good and godly husbandman, you must behave orderly in your responses, conduct and action as the man, husband and father, using the word of God as your template. The perfect will of God for you is to reflect maturity and understanding as your lead yourself, wife and children. God wants you to live an orderly life by putting in check your emotions, appetite and desires for food, sex, money, fame, position and power.

In 1 Corinthians chapter 13 and verse 11, the Word of God says,

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child. But when I became a man, I put away childish things (1Cor.13:11)

As the husbandman, you must stop those childish behaviours. You must grow up and start acting like Jesus Christ would.

As the good and godly man, you must work with your hand, mind and soul to earn a living so that you can provide for yourself, wife, children and support those who are in need as well as be provide spiritual, physical, emotional and mental support too (1Tim.5:8, 2Thess.3:10). As the husband, you must not abuse your wife emotionally, mentally or physically. You must not disrespect her publicly or speak to her dishonourable at home and before others. Rather, you must love her as Jesus Christ has loved the church and gave Himself to the Church (1Pet.3:7, Col.3:19, Eph.5:25, 1Cor.13:4-8).

As the father, you must provide and become the source of motivation and encouragement to your children to do what is good and godly everywhere they go. You must be the example of who they will want to become tomorrow (Eph.6:4, Deut.6:4-8). You must be their first cheerleader and not their teachers, pastors or bishops.

These are all conducts that God commands you to execute as the good and godly husbandman. This is what defines you as the orderly husbandman and brings glory and praise to Jesus Christ our Saviour, who is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from uncontrolled emotions and appetite.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me by Your word and Spirit to be the good and godly example.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to bring my thoughts, emotions and responses under control and Your authority.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am filled with the Spirit of Christ, and I conduct myself in an orderly manner and according to the perfect will of God for my life as the man, husband and father because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
