SHARPENING YOUR LEADERSHIP SKILLS

Spread the love

Bible Texts: 2Tim.2:14-15, Jn.8:32-33, Rom.8:1, Eph.5:25-29, 1Pet.3:7-9, Matt.19:5, Rom.12:1-3, Eph.5:25, 1Cor.13:4-7, Rom.5:5, Philp.4:8, Eph.6:4, 1Pet.5:8,

Have you ever worked with a blunt knife, scissor or hoe? If you have, you will understand that it comes with so much struggle and effort and one can be frustrated when put to use. It is not that the object is bad in itself; it is because it has not been maintained by sharpening it regularly, especially after use. So, it is with every husbandman. And that is an aspect I would like to teach today.

Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about works. It is of no value and only ruins those who listen. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed ad who correctly handles the word of truth (2Tim. 2:14-15) NIV

There is a relationship between leadership and authority. And what strengthens the relationship is the knowledge of who you are, what you are ordained to do and how you are to live. As the good and godly husbandman, you are a leader. And if you do not sharpen your leadership skills, you will lose your influence as the good and godly man, husband and father.

Study to show thyself approved as a workman who is not ashamed but rightly dividing the word of truth (2Tim.2:15)

The Scripture admonishes you to strengthen your influence as the husbandman through the continuous study both of the word of God and other anointed materials. This is because the more you learn from the word of God, the more you know and the more you know, the more the spirit of the word dwells inside you. And when you act on what you know you become a good and godly authority and influence as the man, husband and father (Pro.4:20-22, Ezk.2:2, Jn.5:39, Jn.8:32-33),

But how do I grow to become the husbandman of influence and authority?

The first step is for you to have a personal relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ by accepting Him into your life as your Lord and Saviour (Jn.3:3-6, 2Cor.5:17). You must also give attention to studying the Bible and meditating on it day and night, as a way of life (Jn.8:32, Jos.1:6-8, Ps.1:1-3). You must daily crave to want to know more about Jesus Christ and what He represents as the good and godly husbandman (Eph.5:25-26, Philp.3:10). You must invest your time and money to buy and read books on various aspects of endeavours that will help grow in the knowledge of the truth of God’s word. This may include sports, health, food, nutrition, sexuality, finances and much more.

Keep learning, keep unlearning, keep re-learning and keep doing. It is your access to becoming the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, save me from the power of the pride of life.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, baptize me with the spirit of humility.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to always delight in seeking Your word and doing them.

FAITH CONFESSION

I take delight to seek and to know more about God’s commandments for me as the man, husband and father because that is what sharpens my skills and influence as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
