WIN IN YOUR MIND, GUARD YOUR HEART WITH ALL DILIGENCE

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Col.3:1-14, Rom.12:1-3, Pro.23, Rom.10:10, Jn.5:39, Philp.2:5, Pro.23:7, Ps.1:1-3, 2Tim.2:15, Eph.6:12, 2Cor.10:4-5

Where does the battle to win over obstacles in your journey to becoming the good and godly husbandman begin? Where does change begin from? Does it start in you or outside of you? Let me quote Dr. John Maxwell, one of my greatest teachers and mentors. He says, “Permanent change and improvement always happen from the inside out”.

The battle begins in the mind. Your desire to become the good and godly man, husband and father begins in your mind. Your desire to serve God with all your spirit, soul and might begins in your mind. You win or lose the battle of life in your mind before it manifests on the outside.

Two important Bible passages will help you.

As a man thinks in his heart so is he (Pro.23:7)

If you think you can be the good and godly husbandman, you will. If you do not think so, you can’t.

This is why you must guard your heart.

Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life (Pro.4:23)

The issues of life that defines your leadership success as the good and godly husbandman begin in your mind, hence you must guard your mind with all diligence.

To win the battle in your mind as the husbandman you must subscribe to these spiritual demands?

Firstly, you must remember who you are Christ. Your identity in Jesus Christ gives you the capacity to always be conscious of the perfect will of God for you as the good and godly man, husband and father (Col.3:1). Secondly, must be filled with the knowledge of the word of God in our heart in order to influence your thoughts (Rom.12:1-3). You must focus on what God says and raise new internal standards, daily, according to the word of God (Col.3:3-7). Finally, you must make a switch by getting rid of your old habits and substituting it new habits derived from the word of God (Col.3:12-14). This you achieve through the power of fasting and prayer of faith (Mk.9:29, Gal.4:19, Heb.11:1-2)

God wants you to triumph as the man, husband and father. God wants you to be like His Son, Jesus Christ. He has made you more than a conqueror. But you must guard your heart to secure your path to victory as the good and godly husbandman.

Hallelujah!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, build a wall of fire around the chamber of my heart.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, let the power in Your word strengthen my inner man for victorious living.
  • Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me to walk in the newness of life in Jesus Christ.

FAITH CONFESSION

I guard the chamber of my heart with all diligence and engage the weapons of the word, prayer, fasting, faith and courage to win the battle of life in my mind because that is where the victory to becoming the good and godly husbandman begins, in Jesus name. Amen.
