Bible Texts: Pro.29:18, Jer.1:10-11, Num.13:1-30, Philp.3:13-14, Matt.6:22, Jn.3:39, Is.8:18, Pro.31:25, Is.60:9, Ps.128:2-6, Eph.1:18-19, Rom.8:38-39
Where there is no vision, the people perish (Pro.29:18)
The subject of vision is vital to the success of the husbandman to make the most of his assignment as the good and godly man, husband and father. Hence, today, let us look at the power of visions and why the husbandman must run with the vision God has for him. God has good plans for you. But can you see it (Jn.5:39, Jer.1:10-11)?
In Numbers chapter 13, the Scripture tells us about the story of Joshua, Caleb and the other spies. The prophet, Moses, sent them to go and spy the land that God had promised them. They spied the land and discovered that there were giants in the land and became frightful. While others were fearful because of the facts on ground, Joshua and Caleb refused to focus on the facts but the truth that God had given them the land. They focused on the vision. Joshua and Caleb said,
We are well more than able (Jos.13:30)
Just the same way Joshua and Caleb did not focus on the facts but on the promises of God, you are expected to focus on the promises of God for your life as the man, husband and father. Don’t allow the challenges you confronted with to take your focus away from what God says about you. You must focus on the bigger pictures from the word of God (Jer.1:10-11).
There are great promises lined up for you as the good and godly husbandman in the word of God. God has programmed your life to be a blessing and not a burden (Gen.12:1-2). God has made you the pastor, priest and prophet over your family and home. God has made the agent of peace. Infact, God has made you more than a conqueror. You must not settle for anything less.
Therefore, keep the plans of God in front of you, always. Keep holding on to the truth of God’s word tirelessly. Keep trusting God and His promises. Keep confessing His will daily and stay focused through the eyes of faith on the goals that the word of God has set before you (Pro.3:5, Rom.10:10, Matt.6:22, Lk.18:1).
Remember, if thy eyes be single, they whole body will be full of light (Matt.6:22).
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me seeing eyes and hearing ears and empower me to focus only on Your promises.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my eyes to behold wondrous things from Your word for my life as the man, husband and father.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the forces of despair, discouragement, doubt and fear.
FAITH CONFESSION
God has given me hearing ears and seeing eyes, wherein I have beholden great promises from His word for my life and I remain focused on God’s plan because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
