PUT A CALL TO JESUS CHRIST, FIRST

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Matt.6:9, Ps.18:3, Ps.102:2, Ps.86:7, Ps.116:13, Jer.33:3, Matt.7:7-8, Matt.11:28-30, Lk.18:1, Gal.4:19, Is.1:18-20

Let us pray!

After this manner therefore pray ye. Our Father which art in heaven……….(Matt.6:9)

As the husbandman, who do you call first when you have challenges in your life and with your wife and children? Is it your heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ or your parents, friends or pastors?

But what is the perfect will of God for you?

God wants you to call on Him, first, through His Son, Jesus Christ because He has the answers to all your challenges.

Call unto me and I will answer you and I will show great and mighty things that thou knowest not (Jer.33:3)

In Matthew 7:8, the Bible says,

For every one that asks receives, and he that seeks finds and to him that knocks it shall be opened (Matt.7:7-8)

There is nothing wrong with receiving counsel from human vessels, especially when they are ordained of God. But you must understand that who you call first determines how quickly you receive help. And Jesus Christ never fails. He is not an alternative. He is the way, the truth and the life. He is the real deal. He is your help line in times of emergency.

Jesus says,

Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matt.11:28-23)

But how do I call Him?

You call Him through prayer. You can pray like this, “Father, what is happening to my life, my wife or child(ren), show me what to do?The Bible says this regarding this prayer style.

Come and let us reason together….(Is.1:18-20)

God wants you to engage Him through His Son, Jesus Christ on matters that bother on your covenant responsibilities as the man, husband and father. When you come to God in prayers as a priority, you are expressing your submission of your weakness in exchange for His strength and help. And no one comes to God that does not win over the challenges of life.

So, as the husbandman, your relationship with God must not be negotiated on the platform of anything (Lk.18:1). You must continue to develop a healthy relationship with God and His word through Jesus Christ and the Person of the Holy Spirit. The more you know God and His Word, the easier it is for you to put your first call to Him when faced with crises.

Call Jesus Christ, first because He is the way, the truth and the life.

Spiritual Exercise

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to give You first place in my life through Your Son, Jesus Christ.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to call You first and always as I lead my life, wife and children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, please hear me when I call and help me to always remember to call You first in times of trouble.

Faith Confession

I am dialing God’s emergency lines first and always as the husbandman because He has the answer to make me overcome the challenges as the good and godly man, husband and father, in Jesus name. Amen.
