THE REAL ENEMY

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Jn.10:9-11, Est.7:6, 1Tim.5:14, 1Pet.5:8, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, Rev.12:10, Matt.16:22-23, Gal.4:19, Eph.2:2, Eph.6:12

Today, by the leading of the Person of the Holy Spirit, I want us to focus on who the real enemy is to our desire to becoming the good and godly husbandman, and the tricks of the adversary. Your understanding of knowing who the real enemy is will help you redirect your energy to dealing with the real adversary.

Now consider this Scripture.

Wherein in time past, ye walked according to the course of this world according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience (Eph.2:2)

The word of God says that the prince of the power of the air works disobedience in the lives of the people. This implies that every misbehavior and disobedience you notice in the lives of your wife and children is influenced by unseen forces and that unseen forces are satan, sin and the world (Jn.10:10). Whatever you see happening or coming from your wife and children that appears as if they are intended to hurt you is actually instigated by invisible forces, and that is what you must deal with. So, your real enemies are not your wife or children. Your adversaries are not your wife or children. Your real enemies are satan, sin and the philosophies of the world.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph.6:12)

As the good and godly husbandman, you must understand that your fight is not against your wife and children but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness that are influencing them to misbehave.

But how do I wrestle and overcome the forces influencing the misbehavior in my life and in the lives of my wife and children?

You engage the spiritual weapon of the word, prayer and fasting (Mk.9:29, Lk.18:1, Gal.4:10). You also engage the weapon of the blood and name of Jesus Christ (Rev.12:10-11). You engage the weapon of faith in God and His word (Heb.11:32-33). You also engage the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit for the renewing of your mind so that you can think victory always (Rom.12:1-3).

Therefore, take your stand as the good shepherd and confront the forces of satan, sin and the world trying to enter into the lives of your sheep and sheepfold. Take authority over the forces of darkness trying to defile your life, your mandate and the lives of your wife and children. That is your gateway to remaining the good and godly husbandman.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to deal with the spiritual forces of satan, sin and the world.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my eyes to see the strongholds of the enemy and empower me to break it.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live the supernatural life as I lead my life, wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I exercise my authority in God over the influences of satan, sin and the world and enthrone the perfect will of God for my life to fulfill my mandate as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
