DEALING WITH THE ENEMIES IN YOU (1)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Gen.1:28, Rom.12:15, 1Cor.15:10, Ps.139:14, Job 29:15, Gen.2:5, Gen.1:26-28, Jn.10:1-3, Rom.8:1, Jos.1:3-8, Jn.5:39, 2Tim.2:15

As the good and godly husbandman, there are two forces that are within you that you must overcome if you must enjoy your journey as the good shepherd. These enemies are not outside but in you. And if you can handle these enemies, you will become all that God wants you to be as the good and godly man, husband and father.

What are these enemies? The first is low self esteem. The second is superiority complex.

Low self esteem is when you think less of yourself. This enemy makes you think you are unfit to enter into your place of leadership as the godly man, husband and father. And because you are not in your real place, you become fearful, lack confidence and courage to provide good and godly leadership. This further leads you to lose your self confidence. That is not the will of God for you as the good and godly husbandman.

God wants you to be confident, bold and courageous because He has not given you the spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind (Jos.1:3-8, 2Tim.1:7). You must be conscious of who you are in Christ Jesus and walk in the light of Scriptures to enjoy your ministry as the good and godly man, husband and father (Gen.1:26-28, Jn.10:1-3, Rom.8:1) .

Now, how do I overcome this enemy of low self esteem?

You overcome this monster by rediscovering yourself in God through the pages of Scriptures, which is the word of God. You have the gene of God’s nature in you- the nature of courage, confidence and boldness. So, as you give attention to the study and meditation of the word of God, you discover the truth of what God says about you as the man, husband and father (Jos.1:6-9, Jn.5:39, Eph.5:25, Eph.6:4, 2Tim.2:15).

As the husbandman, you have your self-worth and identity in Jesus Christ, so you are not a nonentity. Don’t allow the noises from the world, the pressure of life and the challenges you may be having to make you feel less of what God says you are. God wants you to function in your place as the good and godly husbandman with authority, faith and power. You must daily affirm this truth to yourself, speak boldly about it and act courageously.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for thinking less of myself and living below Your divine plan for my life as the man, husband and father.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, open my eyes to discover my worth in Your word and help me live by it.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to be the courageous, faith-filled and bold man, husband and father, bringing honour and glory to Your name and in my family.

FAITH CONFESSION
I walk in the reality of who God says I am, where He says I am from and what He says I am worth because that is my heritage as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
