GOD WANTS YOU TO GROW INTO THE FULL IMAGE OF JESUS CHRIST

Bible Texts: 1Pet.2:1, Jn.5:39, Ps.119:105, 1Cor.16:9, Eph.5:14, Ps.119:89, Lk.18:1, Philp.3:10, Ps.1:1-3, Philp.3:13-14

Praise God for His word that has come to us in the past three (3) days on how you and I can cultivate the attitude of gratitude as an important spiritual virtue that makes us the good and godly husbandman. I pray that each and everyone of us shall receive the power to be thankful as a lifestyle in Jesus name. Amen.

As we continue to explore from God’s word the wonders of fasting and prayers in the ongoing 70 days of fasting and prayers, it is important for you and I to desire to be like Jesus Christ. The spiritual exercise that you and I have been engaging in the past 54 days must empower us to be like Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman.

As new born babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby…(1Pet.2:1b)

From the above Bible passage, God wants you to grow. God wants you to be matured in the things of the Spirit and His word as they relate to your covenant responsibilities as the man, husband and father. God wants you to reflect the nature and image of Jesus Christ in all aspects of your life. But you must demand for the power to become like Jesus Christ on the altar of prayer and fasting and the grace of God that makes it possible shall be released to you.

Now, there is a principal food you must feed yourself if you must grow as God desires for you. And that food is the word of God.

…….desire the pure milk of the word (1Pet.2:1a)

The Scripture says that for you to grow, you must desire the pure milk of the word of God.

But why do I need to feed on the word of God to grow and be like Jesus Christ?

Forever O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven (Ps.119:89)

The word of God is the truth and remains so forever. It contains the principles that are enduring and unchanging.

The word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Ps.119:105)

The word of God provides direction that will lead you to act, conduct yourself and react in ways pleasing to God, as you lead your life, wife and children.

For we all with an open face beholding as in a glass, the glory of the Lord are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord (2Cor.3:18)

The word of God changes and transforms.The more you feed on the word by studying and thinking on it, the more you experience transformation in your spirit, soul and body.

Therefore,

Awake you who sleep and arise from the dead and Christ will shine on you (Eph.5:14)

It may be true that you are not living the life Jesus Christ wants you to live. It may be true that everything about your conduct, action and attitude are far from being called good and godly. And satan may have whispered to you that you cannot be like Jesus Christ. Do not listen to the lies. Do not give up. Do not surrender to defeat. Today is a day you can purpose in your heart to commit yourself to the demands that will facilitate your growth in the things of God (Dan.1:8). Make a firm decision today to be like Jesus Christ. Ask God to forgive you and invite Jesus Christ into your life. Walk with the Person of the Holy Spirit for help and guidance and keep your prayer altar aflame.

You can be like Jesus Christ! Yes, you can!

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a shining star in my career and let it bring glory to Your name
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me uncommon breakthrough in my career
• Father,  in the Name of Jesus, announce me to my world and supply all that I would need to succeed in my career

FAITH CONFESSION

I desire and drink from the pure word of God to grow and be like Jesus Christ because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen
