Bible Texts: Pro.4:18, Gen.17:1-3, Ecc.7:9, Gen.2:15-16, Jn.3:1-8, 1Cor.13:10-11, Gal.4:19, 2Cor.5:17, Rom.6:1, Rom.8:1, Pro.4:20-24, Ezk.2:2
When I was a child, I spake like a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child, but when I became a man, I put away childish things (1Cor.13:11)
As the husbandman, you must recognize that you cannot transfer the responsibility for your spiritual growth and development to another person. Yes, you may learn from the examples of other good and godly husbandmen, either in Scripture or in our contemporary times, but putting what you learn to work is your responsibility. God wants you to take personal responsibility for your spiritual growth because His perfect will for you is to grow from maturity to maturity. God wants you to put away childish behaviours such as your inability to control your appetite for food, sex, and power. God wants you to put away the ungodly nature of bitterness, hatred, unforgiveness, envy, anger, lack of generosity, bad will, and laziness. God wants you to grow up.
But what must I do to grow up and become the good and godly man, husband and father, and be consistent in my walk with God through Jesus Christ?
One of the principal ways you can grow and become the good and godly man, husband, and father is by taking personal responsibility to study the word of God. The word of God is God’s manual of instructions, commandments, and precepts (Pro. 4:20-22, Ps.119:105, Jn.8:32). As you keep searching, you will keep discovering a new and living way of how God wants you to conduct the affairs of your life as the husbandman.
Also, you must take personal responsibility to think on the word of God and engage the forces of the spirit of grace and supplication so that the Person of the Holy Ghost can empower you to obey all that God commands (Deut.28:1, Jos.1:6-8, Ps.1:1-3, Gal.4:19, Ezk.2:2, Jn.5:39, Philp.2:13, Jn.15:5, Rom.5:5)
You must always remember that you are a three-in-one personality. You are the man, the husband, and the father. And the perfect will of God is for you to be like Jesus Christ in all aspects of your responsibilities as the man, husband, and father. Therefore, arise and take up your bed, walk and work in the light of Scriptures, and you will experience steady growth and improvement as the good and godly husbandman (Jn.15:4).
Hallelujah!
