LIVE AN ORDERLY LIFE

Spread the love

Bible Texts: 1Cor.11:30-34, 2Cor.7:1, Col.1:19, Heb.11:3, Eph.5:25, Eph.6:4, Gen.17:1, Jos.24:15, 1Tim.3:1-4, Eph.2:2, Mk.9:29

Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another. And if any man hunger, let him eat at home, that ye come not together unto condemnation. AND THE REST WILL I SET IN ORDER when I come (1Cor.11:30-33)

I want you to know that, as the good and godly husbandman, God wants to bless you. God wants to make you a successful leader. God wants to prosper your office as the head of the family. But He wants you to do one very important thing. God wants you to put your life in order.

Elijah’s testimony during the contest with the prophets of Baal speaks to the importance of putting things to enjoy the fullness of God’s blessing as the good and godly husbandman. The contest was about whose God was the real God. Was it the god of Baal or the God of Israel? Prophet Elijah set the altar in order and the fire came down from heaven and consumed the sacrifice and established that the God of Israel is the true God.

As the husbandman, order is a necessary target you must set in your life and in your family government. This is because where there is no order, there will be chaos (Gen.1:1). And where there is chaos, there will be no progress. You must appreciate your position as the spiritual leader, a kingdom administrator, a governor, king and lord (Eph.5:25, Jos.24:15, Eph.6:4, 1Tim.3:2-4).

What this means is that the success or failure of your family government depends on how much order you have put in your life and in your sheepfold. For instance, it is not orderly when you stir up strife and bitterness in the hearts of your children against their mother or vice versa. It is not orderly when you disobey the instructions of the Scriptures for you as the man, husband, and father. It is not orderly when you live a life of sin. It is not orderly when you abuse your body, either through debased sexual behaviours, sexual immorality, drug abuse, or uncontrolled and unhealthy eating habits.

But how do I set my life in order?

Having therefore these promises, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God (2Cor.7:1)

The first step is that you must cleanse your thoughts from every form of filthiness by the word of God and keep your body from engaging in sinful act. Secondly, you must walk worthy of the Lord in all you think, do and say (Col.1:19), using the Bible as your guide(Jn.5:39, 2Tim.2:15). Thirdly, you must engage the weapon of praise, prayer and fasting to repel anything form of distraction and resistance (Mk.9:29, Eph.2:2, Is.58:8). And finally, you must walk by faith, trusting that God rewards those who walk uprightly (Heb.11:1-6, 33).

Therefore, put your life in order because it is the perfect will of God for you.

Hallelujah!
