As we continue our teaching on living like Jesus Christ, let us understand as husbands that God wants you and I to be transformed in our spirit, soul, body, thoughts, and words. This is because renewing our minds by the Word of God leads to the transformation of our person as husbandmen.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good and perfect will of God (Rom.12:1-3)
But why must I renew my mind with the word of God?
Ye may prove what is good and perfect will of God (Rom.12:3)
Firstly, renewing your mind with the word of God gets you on the pathway of growth and development as the good and godly man, husband and father. God’s word is the way, the truth and the life.
Be alert and sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (1Pet.5:8)
Secondly, renewing your mind with the word of God helps you to escape from the plans of satan, sin and the world designed to destroy your heritage as the godly husbandman. This means that by the word of God, you can watch over your mind against the tricks, suggestions and advice that are contrary to what God commands from His word.
Living like Jesus Christ is the perfect will of God for you because it is the way to a life of peace, joy and fulfillment for you here on earth and securing for you a place in eternity.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to renew my thought by Your word and make it to conform to Your will.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to overcome evil with good.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, and by Your word make my life to count positively as the good and godly man, husband and father.
FAITH CONFESSION
I take captive my thought and bring them under the authority of the will and plan of God by renewing it by the word of God because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
