LOVE CONQUERS OFFENCES

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Pro.10:12, 1Pet.4:8, 1Cor.2:16, Rom.5:5, 1Jn.4:16, 1Pet.3:7-9, 1Cor.13:4-8

I want to begin today’s teaching by acknowledging the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit for His continuous release of revelation from His Word, leading to daily teaching in the devotional, IN TUNE WITH GOD. To God alone I give all the glory (Ps.115:1-2).

Yesterday, I was in Zion (Church) when the topic for today was shown to me when the Man of God was ministering, and suddenly the Person of the Holy Spirit began to speak to me. And that is what I want to share with the husbandman today.

Prophecy: There is a husband who is reading today’s devotional and is living in offence towards his wife. God is saying that you can overcome the power of offence with the greater power of the love of God.

Love covers a multitude of sins (Pro.10:12)

The love of God conquers the force of offence, whether it is coming from your wife, your children, or even any other person. It may be true that your wife has offended you and hurt your feelings, and you are struggling to forgive her. It is only natural, but because you have the mind of Christ in you by reason of your new birth in Jesus, you can walk above offences and live in love towards her (1Cor.2:16).

But why is the love of God so powerful it overcomes the force of offence?

The love of God is a powerful weapon capable of conquering offences because God is love personified (1Jn.4:16). The expression of God’s love defeats offences because all of God’s love is God at work (1Cor.13:4-8). The love of God conquering offences gives you speedy answers to your prayers (1Pet.3:7-9).

Therefore, take the bold step of faith, walk to your wife and tell her you have forgiven her and now embrace her with the love of Christ. That is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.

Hallelujah!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for walking in offence towards my wife and my children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy the hold of unforgiveness in my life.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the Spirit of love and help me to walk in the love of Christ towards all people.

FAITH CONFESSION

I have found a new way of living in Jesus, and with His love spread abundantly in my heart, I overcome offences and walk in the love of God towards all people, beginning with my wife and my children in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer of Salvation/Rededication

Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
